The Waiting for Gosho to Collect Evidence Topic

Shall we keep track of the length of Gosho's information gathering excursions and the results?
I haven't seen this information easily available; correct me if I'm wrong.

I figure we need to know the file after which he takes a break, the length of the break, and the results (or what we assume to be the results) of the break.

Thanks to Conan-Magic's webpage and dctp's manga arc names, here is a better start:

An interesting tidbit: if Gosho had published every week (including holidays and possibly non-existent issues) then he would have just published File 881.

Let me know when you can crank out 16 pages of art+text+story+mystery a week, every week, for (fill in the number of years here) and no breaks and I'll get back to you with a guess for this thread.

Lol, fifteen years in I'd be lucky to be on file 40.
I still want to see if more time off is a harbinger of a better file.

Do not forget he also took a mini vacation. Surely, one who works as hard as he does should get a little time off

Every Author got their own habits for breaks..

Like Ken Akamatsu, he always go into break after 4 chapters of Negima...

It's also possible that he works on other manga related stuff, like artbooks or a summary book and stuff. Or get's asked about stuff for the anime too.

i dont think you'll be able to reach very accurate/reliable results... he may not be researching for individual cases after all, but may be researching for the big big case which will come soon. thats what i hope anyway :p

:D

If he has to gather information somewhere else then it's probably related to the culture, architecture or the art in the place. Otherwise he's probably just taking a break :V

If I had been writing/drawing a manga for 16 years (though I highly doubt he's actually drawing anything anymore), I'd probably be writing the ending by now, and not still stalling with unoriginal, idiotic cases.

1. lol@suggesting you could ever write something that would be popular for 16+ years (hell forget the "for 16+ years" part)
2. no you wouldn't be writing the ending. It's just as likely you would stall even more than Gosho has unless you hate your own writing ability and money.
3. The cases aren't the stalling as much as the large amount of breaks he takes.
4. All of the diehard case fans want to murder you now, probably.

Oh, Ok.
1. You don't know me, so I could be Shakespeare, as far as you know.
2. Most authors love giving a conclusion to their stories. Aoyama wasn't even planning to write this for this long. I doubt he's enjoying writing it anymore. The quality of the cases has been lowering for a long while at this point, due to repetition. It's no wonder that he needs to take a break before beggining each case.
3. I don't think a break of a couple of weeks every 5 or 6 files takes longer than 6 cases where no developement occurs (like in the last 6).
4. If they take things that seriously, then they're in worse trouble than me.

I feel like we are getting off topic and taking some things out of context.

Anyway, I feel like ,yeah!, Gosho def needs a break especially now that he has made a change, a rather large one between the main couple of the whole story of Conan.  I feel like characters are going to be changing and I feel like through this all Gosho is going to need to think of something to continue having his readers stay on their toes.

Hard job of being a popular author.
