As promised, to avoid a repeat of the mess that was the London case solution discussion, this thread is dedicated entirely to discussion about the current case solution. If you want to talk about the followup of the London case, the confession, Haibara, hugging, etc., please post in Files 753-??? discussion thread.

Don't bother with using spoiler boxes for 753 discussion in this thread because the poll gives case details away anyway, but do start using them for when spoilers for 754+ come out.

The title of the thread will change pending release by DCTP. The poll will probably change when more information about the case is given in 754. You may change votes if you like.

This case reminds me a bit of a Columbo case, mainly because Conan was acting like Columbo "I have one more question". I think "Columbo cries wolf" was the case where the victim was sealed into a wall, so I wanted to go with that option, but I think Gosho won't exactly copy that case, so the "twist" wil be that the guy will be "Trapped in a space between floors/ceilings".

I think the two are the new BO-Team, Cognac and Brandy, who have some BO-business.

Do you suppose the earthquake had any real significance, or was it just a combined PSA/plot advancing device?

Maybe due to the eartquake the trapped guy realized that the kids (or at least someone else than them) were in the building? I mean, there is no point knocking for help in an abadont building, or is their?
And also it was the only was to make Haibara hug Conan.

I figure the can is a hint somehow, it is nice and resonant. I wonder if he heard them somewhere? We need a better idea of the layout of the building.
As for why the guy stopped knocking, maybe the pair have knocked him out somehow or maybe the trapped guy heard that the kids got the message and doesn't want the dubious duo to realize the kids know the truth which will keep the men from attacking the kids to silence them?

If the man could hear the can, then the two captors should have heard it, too. At least in normal conditions.

I actually think this might be a possibility... since the Earth quake might have triggered something, it's an "SOS" but maybe that "SOS" was not meant to imply that someone was confined then again, I didn't get to see the file yet

The earthquake was purely for another AyumiXConanXHaibara touch scene and was conveniently able to set up the rest of the plot. I don't exactly like to guess...

My guess right now is that the abducted is simply locked in some room.
But I guess the 2 suspicious guys will not take a risk and move him as soon as the Detective Boys (Yay, another case with them! And differently to some other people I am honest with my delight about their quick reappearance. ) left the building.

So they will likely hide him in a better place now - but obviously still in the building since they can't drag him out in the streets without risking getting noticed.
Where they will hide him/her - I have no idea. But chances are they a have to improvise...

If they're feeding this person, then he/she needs to be accessible. It's probably just an inner room.

The 3rd lunch box was probably hinting that the guy was recently confined. They either brought the guy with some excuse and then confined him, or they came together for some other reason, something happened after they arrived (some argument) and the other two guys decided to confine him. Since the lunch boxes were empty, they probably spent some quiet time before something happened and the two guys decided to do something to the 3rd guy. Also, the lunchbox points out there were three of them. There could be a 3rd captor, or a 3rd person and no real prissoner, but then there would have been no need to lie to the kids about it.

I would say a column buut that's just because its the most salient thing...so I don't know.

Why they haven't called the police yet also bothers me. If you really think someone is being held against their will, you should call the police. But hey that's just me.
