Who is Diana Kingston?
I believe she has nefarious ties with some powerful organization, most probably the “Black Organization.â€

For me it's wait and see at this point. It's pretty crazy that Diana spent all the money to bring four people overseas and managed to get grounds passes without queuing well in advance. (I am under the impression that you pretty much had to queue to get grounds passes on championship day)
My irrational gut feeling is that she is more likely to be an eccentric woman with an excess of disposable cash whose purpose is to enable the plot rather a member of the Org., but I'll hold off judgment until the case develops and her role is made more clear.

@ chekhov, as a Londoner I like to tell you that your impression is correct, you do have to queue to get tickets, unless a person got them before hand, which only can be done by rich people, I checked with someone who has been to tennis and told me that sometimes you even have to camp while queueing .

They explained that Diana knows someone on the Steering Committee, or possibly is on the Steering Committee herself
I assume that affords special privileges
I will LOL so hard if she turns out to be royalty... "Diana," after all

Yes, it did. But my concern is how and why. I'm not entirely positive my knowledge of what a Steering Committee is, is correct and thus my perception of how having pull within such an organization may help her might be misconstrued.
@Chekhov: You're probably correct in that Kingston is simply someone who enjoys her money and is meant to further the plot.
I guess we will have to wait and see if Sinichi gets to go back to Japan once this case is resolved in the next few files and take the idea from there.

To me it more like: Wow! You found my Cat. I am too Rich and want to Reward you too greatly. How about a trip to England to see the Tennis matches there ( And while there save all England from the Mad Bomber that the Japanese Fortune Teller told me about. She Said your cat will get lost. A Great Detective will find it, and unless you make sure he gets to England Soon, Thousands of People will Die.)

I think she's Vermouth. that chic has enough money to do all this.
Maybe she and Bourbon have something up for Haibara back home, and since she doesn't want to harm the others, she dresses up and generously pays for their trip.
Does that make sense?

It'll be extreme.... unreasonable for Org to simply approach the Mouris ... especially with the excuse "you found my cat!" when the cat was clearly just there when she finds it
not to mention the Engrish, the pretend tennis play that needs more research so it would look like tennis.... wait, no they're Gosho's screw ups

Not only that, but we still have the Bourbon thing going on right now. Why to try to insert more B.O. when he still haven't resolved that long arc. Considering that for more than a year now there wasn't a B.O. case, making a B.O. related case which is not related to Okiya/Akai/Bourbon, is just stupid.

yep... I mean by now, general fans would probably feel like :Bourbon? Whozzat?

lol
No, seriously, I doubt that every fan still remembers Bourbon's purpose

I think it was something about Chiba's-first-love-hunting, but I could be wrong
But seriously, I doubt even Bourbon remembers what his purpose is

Kir: The Org has activate a new member, codename Bourbon
Bourbon: Whozzat?

Haha, very valid point. Perhaps It's to set up something to reintroduce Bourbon. (Wishful thinking, I know...)

To be fair, the dark footprint/contact with the Black Org case (Conan in the locker) was pretty much unrelated to Vermouth despite being in the middle of that arc. Akai had a cameo or two, but it was nothing very plot substantial. (Conan learned from Ran Akai was FBI but the readers learned that in golden apple)
