Kaitou Kid's Role in the long run?

Note: I mean this as a purely hypothetical discussion:
What do you think Kaitou's significance to the main storyline of Detective Conan will be in the end of the series?
Personally, I feel that it's likely that he and Conan will team up along with the FBI to take down the Black Org, and Kaitou seems to already know something that he hasn't let on to Conan, don't you think?

i feel his role is to bring excitement to an already cryptic and angsty story line but i do hope he's still in the show. KId is one of the most interesting characters on there

I do too; he's so mysterious, it'd be a shame if all that was wasted as just extra material

It's possible, but we can always hope not XD

I don't want Kid to be involved in the DC plotline on any level.
Kis has his own show, which will hopefully continue, but I'd hate to see him in a BO case. It's just... nope. I don't mind that much if there is a Kid case in DC, but I still don't like him as much as I maybe should. I think his role in DC is overhyped. gHe is cool and stuff, but he should do something in his own story, not in DC main plot.

I remember reading once that Gosho originally only intended to have Kid appear once, as well as that the conclusion for DC has been decided since the beginning (although, stuff has probably been added since it was originally going to be a short series). With this in mind, I think Kid role will be more of a subplot if anything, like the MPD Love Stories. No real importance to the main plot, but instead it has its own plot.

Yeah, I think he would, if anything, be part of some sub-plot. But besides his own actual problem, in his own manga/anime, I currently don't know if he has any other involvement in DC.

Yes, I totally agree. But, I'm still wondering on how the heck he figured out Conan's real identity.

Well, Kid is as smart as Shinichi and Heiji, and several other characters and he does research on many things, probably trying to locate the Pandora Jewel. So maybe after his initial encounter with Conan, he did some research on him and found out about Shinichi's disappearance, Kogoro's sudden improvement as a detective, and the appearance of Conan.

He hasn't figured out Conan's identity in the manga. It's only in the movies.

In the movies? What about in the anime, didn't he figure it out on the Kaito Kid's First Appearance episode?
or is it just my hallucinating self? =O

No, Kid didn't figure it out in his first appearance. Actually, yeah, in the anime, he only knows that Conan is quite keen, though it wouldn't surprise me if he was suspicious.
