On the case of files 646+, they've been talking about someone living in the forest.
Who do you think he is?
They mentioned that the father of Makoto has gone missing, so there is a possibility that he is the so called "Forest guy", but I doubt that an old man can live in a forest like that.
Since I don't their folklore, I'd say it's a monkey or Homeless... just like the homeless from Mizunashi Rena case...
What do you think?

A monkey?  As in...?  A primate?  o_O  I think it's a bit too humanoid for a monkey.  It may be a character that we know about, but maybe it isn't.  But we can't be certain until we have a bit more evidence, I suppose?
Or maybe it's just someone wearing a wig?  That's why their hair appears white, but it could be someone young.  After all, the face doesn't appear too old.  That hair might not be natural.

Hazy's deduction about the Forest Guy's "youthful" appearance is why i think it is the real shinichi..

that and the fact that Ran doesn't feel a bond to the amnesiac "Shinichi".. plus i doubt the real shinich would kill someone.. (but that is me jumping to conclusions.. we'll have to wait til next file to see if the "shinichi" had in fact killed the mean reporter lady)

I also think the Forest Guy is the real Shinichi, because the Shinichi who is with them rite now seems fake. he could be wearing a mask, and nobody takes notice of that. The real one, in the mean time, is probably experiencing some side effects from the drug, and can't show up rite now. Dats wat i assume neways hehe

i suppose with file 648 it could be shinichi, especially since everyone wants to believe it.  couldn't it be makoto?  the kid who's been missing for 6 months?  i dunno.  the guy in the forest has gray hair, according to the girl classmate.  i guess it could be makoto's daddy or well the one who killed his sister & dad.  haha.  maybe it's the classmate, hikawa moegi.  she was all upset cause makoto was in love with shinichi but not her.

Anyway, I'd say he's either Makoto's father or Makoto himself (in a wig or something like that).  Those characters haven't been present the whole time, aside from flashbacks.  That alone makes both of them suspicious figures.  While I'm not really keen on the "real Shinichi-fake Shinichi" theory, there's still a small chance of some of it being true and that the white-haired guy's actually Shinichi staying behind and waiting for the chance to confront the fake.

As much as I want him to be Shinichi, where'd he get the weird wig and clothes?  Unless another side effect of the drug is to grow your hair and dye it a different colour xD.

I'd love it to be Shinichi, because that means whoever we're seeing "murder" the reporter is actually Vermouth or Bourbon. Who else is able to disguise as Shinichi so masterfully? (If you're thinking Kaitou Kid, I believe we already pretty much ruled him out by file 647.. so now.. he's definetly not a suspect.)

Most people are supporting "Fake Shinichi" theory!!
It's as if Makoto or whoever lured Shinichi to that mountain hut, and locked him in, then disguised himself as Shinichi and committed the crime with the intention of running away so that they think that Shinichi is a murderer.
This theory is weak because it does not explain why Shinichi was found naked in the lake?

The purpose was to trap Shinichi and to take his place, but Shinichi never showed up -- and so he couldn't take Shinichi's clothes

Eh, I don't want to believe Forest Man is Shinichi. I think it's completely unknown person, maybe a lunatic? For the Makoto's father he looks too young, I don't believe in that folklore story and he doesn't look like monkey at all.

I don't really want to believe that it's Shinichi... that would be too weird.
Persons shrinking due to some poison that failed is one thing but Gosho never drew any other abnormal things... Well, that's just my oppinion, though.
I guess the forest guy is Makoto's father or some other person from the village.

it could be kid... maybe. the part of the face you can see in that picture looks a bit like shinichi, in other words like kid. so kid could be the forest guy who in the end helps a framed shinichi by jogging his memory or something. just my thoughts, albeit tainted with a great lack of sleep.
