This "Everything works out for everyone at the end" does start to get lame (at least regarding the couples), however, for Shiratori it was probably a must. Since Gosho really rushed to make the couple work, I can assume it was because he wants to finish soon, unless it's just because he also wants to make couples for Chiba, Yumi, Yamamura, the other inspectors and who's not.

Another epic arc-ender. That's why I fell in love with Gosho

Raw is out by Kyuu, so here is a description of the file for those unwilling or unable to download the raw...

Kobayashi runs away from Shiratori while looking depressed. The DB harass him briefly about the failed confession and Shiratori starts to run after her but stops. The DB then switch to discussing the crime. While discussing with Shiratori, Conan sees the mysterious shadow person with the hat peeking out from behind a wall nearby. The person notices Conan looking and ducks around the corner. Conan runs to the figure's position but no one is there. Conan says something out loud (setting up a trap?) and the shadow person lurking around yet another corner overhears and smirks evilly.

Cut to the school at night. It's raining outside. Kobayashi is in the staff room making paper 3-D shapes for class. Another teacher that is with her leaves. (going home for the night?) Kobayashi then gets a phone call. She seems confused and walks into the dark hallway. She is thinking about something when a shadow figure (not the one with the hat but has a distinct silhouette) is reaching for her from behind. She whirls around but no one is there. Meanwhile, peering out from behind a wall nearby is our familiar raincoat and hat shadowman. Kobayashi turns a corner and narrows her eyes while the hat culprit sneaks up from behind with a baseball bat and prepares to swing...

... and Kodama Ryuusuke takes a vicious crunching elbow to the nose complete with flying blood courtesy of our favorite teacher who then quickly steps behind him, grabs him around the waist, and performs an overhead drop. Kodama looks confused after being pwned nine ways till next Wednesday and the DB step out from hiding. (Why do the police let them hang around in these kinds of situations?) Sato pulls off her disguising glasses and Shiratori appears with the real Kobayashi. Conan and the DB explain the crime. Kobayahsi mistook the victim's voice for the killer's. The boob was actually Kodama's elbow when he grabbed his arm in pain. The letters were from the OS on the Osaka moving truck. Kodama confesses and apparently part of the reason has something to do with a hanko. Sato chastises him. Shiratori says something (probably a law) which makes Kodama get scared and triggers Kobayashi to recall the situation in the bookstore. Kobayashi says something (probably "I remember"). The rest of it is as HADAA describes above. (lol at Shiratori with the Shoujo eyes.) Before the switch to the police station with the bento scene, Sato says something privately to Conan that causes him to react in a way that suggests the love scene went completely over Sato's head. Huzzah.

wow, someone disguised as another person, what a new and refreshing concept for the file...
It was obvious that Gosho might pull this glasses thing, but still...

Yes, but I'm going to be optimistic and believe that the first page of the next file will either have Gin talking to someone or Jodie talking to someone. It will also be enough for me if it will be a simple case with Okiya.

I'm happy that this arc ended happily for Kobayashi and Shiratori.   

Though, now I'm kinda annoyed that Gosho is taking another break, considering all of the breaks he's been having. Or could he just be doing this to annoy the fans?

I'm surprised (and a bit in awe) that he churns the files out this quickly in the first place.

i hope the breaks are in preparation for something huge!! not necessarily the end of Detective Conan. but at least, some further development in the BO, more info about them, stuff like that!
