It's interesting Kobayashi doesn't recognize the voice: that makes me think it was the victim she heard, not the culprit. I'm also evilly happy Kobayashi is still pissed at Shiratori despite him trying to tell her the bookstore story. Kobayashi has a backbone! I was hoping for a misunderstanding and it seems I got what I wanted. I feel like a bad person though for hoping it wouldn't turn out so smoothly. Shiratori definitely seems set up to save the day if the shadow is the culprit. Will Kobayashi forgive him by the end of this case or will it get dragged out over a couple more cases?

Yeah... I've thought about this since file 706. 'Cause the victim is a manlike woman so maybe Sumiko didn't think that was her voice. So the culprit may be a man, right :-?
