Actually, I like this theory the most! It deals with the somewhat too easy theory of "fake-Akai" being Akai and it deals with the still too popular theory ( to me anyway ) of Okiya being Akai. Now only to add a plausible explanation for the way the CIA agent and Conan got into contact (or agreement to come in contact via the red, white & yellow case) and their reason for even coming into contact.

Too many... I'm not trying to be mean; people should search for old threads rather than create new ones if possible. There used to be a set of "read this first" forum rules somewhere which said that people should search for threads about the same topic before creating new ones, but after the forum hijacking incident I'm not sure where the Rule FAQ went. Maybe Kyuu or JD can fish it up again.

I vote that someone preemptively starts a file 701 thread and then gets an admin to lock all other 701 threads just to keep the discussion in one spot. If you want plausible theories about how Hidemi and Akai worked together to fake Akai's death then start reading here. The explanations go on for a couple pages.

I agree Neither!. Look at the current case and remember that none are who they pretend to be.

Okiya Subaru is noy pretending to be Akia and is in a way 'investigating' Akia. The real Akia would not do that as it might bring attention to himself.

The fake Akia i think is KIr. and in the last panel that could be vermouth pretending to be Kir

I think that the "Scar" Akai is not the real Akai. To start it off, the scar Akai uses his right hand to shoot a pistol; however, the Akai we know is left handed; this could be seen as he uses his left hand to pull the trigger when he sniped Gin. However, we can not assume that Akai isn't skilled enough to use a pistol with both hands; therefore, this one piece of evidence is not very conclusive in terms of proving that scar Akai is not the real Akai.

Another piece of evidence we can use is Conan's reaction; this piece of evidence in my point of view is a very convincing piece of evidence.

When Eisuke brought the topic of someone in the FBI dying, Conan replied with "Yeah It's Alright" in his heart. This statement suggests that Conan knew that Gin will send Kir to kill Akai right when she gets back; therefore, they made preparations to cover both Akai and Kir's ass by letting Akai fake his death.

However, when the detective boys said that they saw Akai, Conan was very shocked. From this we can interpret Conan's shocking expression as "That's not part of the plan that Akai and I came up."

I think these are major evidence against scar Akai being the real Akai; therefore, I don't think scar Akai is Akai, but someone else.
