only question i have about the chapter is why would Komei lie to Misao Yamamura about his childhood friend being alive and "still doing it" when he knew Hiromitsu Morofushi is most likely dead already

I liked that part actually. Komei has no conclusive evidence about his brother's death except that phone with the bullet through it. so makes sense on his part not to say anything based on half known truths. it also adds this mysterious aura to komei, prompting us to ask the question like yours.
