Shukichi Haneda's relative(?) on the APTX list
While browsing the wiki, I saw that one of the listed victims of APTX4869 had the same surname as him.

They are the same kanji.
The victim 羽田 浩司
Haneda Shūkichi 羽田 ... (I can't post his given name for some reason)
Shukichi's kanji's name can be found here

If this turn out to be true. it will be the longest time for Gosho's Chekhov's guns to fires.

It could be a coincidence but we know how unlikely those are in Conan... This just gets me thinking how far Gosho actually plans things? Because about Sera he has for example said that he created her due the popularity of Natsuki Koshimitsu(from Detective Koshien)...

Which could also mean that she isn't very related to the plot, and she of being a sister of Akai is just for fun. If Gosho already has a plan how to end the whole story, and he had it a long time ago, he shouldn't add a random characters to the plot.MoonRaven wrote:Because about Sera he has for example said that he created her due the popularity of Natsuki Koshimitsu(from Detective Koshien)...
Well.. unless Gosho himself still doesn't know how the plot will end.......

Re: Shukichi Haneda's relative(?) on the APTX list
I read somewhere, that Gosho has the ending already planned, but since the series got longer than he expected, he has added some new stuff. Gosho thought that this series will last only one volume (or maybe it was three volumes), but since DC got popular, he decided to add some new things. Honestly, if DC would last only 3 volumes, then we would be introduced to less character than now.
If, that person on this APTX list is really Shuukichi's relative, then I wonder what that person's relation to Shuukichi is. If we assume that Shuukichi's the middle brother, then that shrunken person is likely Shuukichi's, Shuichi's mum (the mystery girl). If that the case, does it mean that both Shuukichi and his mum changed their last name to Haneda?

Nice find!
Kinda off:
Can anyone remember what file or episode did Yumi mention about his good looking boyfriend (=Shuukichi Haneda) to the DB? I just watched it 2 weeks ago. LOL.
It's also years ago. It might be related to this one.

It's vol 49 chapter 6, "The secret path to school". It's the case just after the BO vs FBI.Elixir wrote:Nice find!

Re: Shukichi Haneda's relative(?) on the APTX list
This thread hasn't been posted in for a while but I find it interesting!
The first name of the character on the list with the family name Haneda can be read as follows (according to dictionaries)
Koushi, Kouji, Goushi, Gouji, Hiroshi, Hiroji
We know that of the three siblings, that Akai was the fathers family name and that Sera was the mothers family name. I think that Masumi implied that she and the middle brother were both born with the last name Akai and then changed them to Sera when the father died. Then the middle brother changed his name to something else after graduating high school, meaning they all have different family names. Its incredibly unlikely that the mother would ever need to use the family name Haneda for any reason and unlikely that she would that name on the list, because Gin says that the drug he uses in the first episode has never been tested on humans which makes Shinichi the first human victim of the drug. Those people on the list would therefore all be victims that have occurred since the first episode of the series, but before Haibara appears since she has seen that part of the list.
That would mean that the BO went after the Akai mother while she was in America and that she was using the name Haneda at the time for a reason that is unknown, while Masumi was using the name Sera. The only way that could work out like that so that Shuukichi could be the middle brother is that both Shuukichi and the mother changed family names at the same time when Shuukichi graduated from high school, but Masumi kept her's as it is now. Why would the mother need to change her family name again to the same thing as the middle brother? Thats what doesnt make sense to me.
I find it far more likely that either the family name is a coincidence, or that Shuukichi has a relative that happened to be connected to the BO in someway but that he is not aware of the connection and that he is not the middle brother.
The reason that the chapter and episode "Secret path to the school" is marked as a BO related case in the wiki is because Conan and Haibara spend the first part of that case in the chapter of the manga talking about the events from BO vs FBI. Many of the cases on the Detective Conan World Wiki are marked as BO cases simply because the BO are talked about at the beginning of that case and nothing more. In that case specifically, there is a missing girl who supposedly looks similar to Haibara and a new teacher who looks really menacing due to his constant squinting. At first Conan and Haibara think that it has something to do with the BO and Haibara walks around with a hat to hide her hair for part of the story. They think that the new teacher is one of the BO and kidnapped a girl that looked like Haibara by mistake. It turns out very different by the end of the story.

I think it's quite interesting how Shuukichi Haneda's mention or appearance is after a major arc, or sandwich between big story arcs.jimmy_kud0_tv2 wrote:The reason that the chapter and episode "Secret path to the school" is marked as a BO related case in the wiki is because Conan and Haibara spend the first part of that case in the chapter of the manga talking about the events from BO vs FBI. Re: Shukichi Haneda's relative(?) on the APTX list
after re-reading that story it seems that Yumi only mentions him because of probing questions from the DB. She stopped to by a face mask from the store that the missing girl had bought some things. The face mask was because there were bad smells coming from an area where bikes were being parked illegally, which caused her to sneeze a lot. Crows had torn up and scattered garbage causing the smell, but that turns out to not be the reason that she sneezes. Then Yumi says that the real reason for the mask was that her ex-boyfriend lives near the second place that the bikes were parked. The DB try to pry further but Yumi tells them that its none of their business and they all go together to look for the missing girl. (Yumi also says she has two dogs named Suta and Hachi).
An interesting but probably unrelated thing that I noticed from reading that chapter is that illegal parking in japanese is pronounced "Chuukin" which is really similar to Yumi's pet name for Shuukichi --- Chuukichi. Is it possible that Shuukichi used to illegally park his bike/car and earned the nickname that way? Maybe Yumi though that the person who parked the bike illegally may have been him?? .... although this doesn't really matter.
Also another reason that this story may have been marked as a BO story besides the talk of the BO at the beginning is that at the end of the last chapter of the story Ran mentions to Kogoro that there is a new transfer student that has arrived at her school that looks very similar to Mizunashi Rena, Conan doesn't hear this because he is asleep, but that is a lead in to Eisuke's introduction. Since at the time of Eisuke's intro not much was really known about KIR or the Hondou family, it was heavily implied that Eisuke was a part of the BO with a bunch of images of him looking really menacing floating around any time any one though of him. Although later it was proved he was simply looking for his sister...
now thats starting to bother me a little bit more... Shuukichi bears more resemblance to the Hondou Family than the Akai family when talking about eye shape, in my opinion. Seeing that he was at least mentioned to exist that far back when the Hondou family was being introduced, I see it far more likely that he has something to do with them rather than the Akai family.

But, I've noticed Naeko Miike also got the same eye as Hidemi.

If you think about it, Naeko and Shuukichi are both connected to Yumi.
On the other hand, Chuu means middle, hence Chuukichi!
