First of all i would :)apologise if i hurt anybody's sentiment regarding to this topic.

Well don't take it too seriously but this are some of my views for Black Org. Boss/Member.

I will put this point in following manner :

1]Officer Shiratori Likes Wine's and so do the names of Black Org. members have names similar to wine[Gin,Vodka..].

2]He belong to a very rich family,thus posing him as one of the contender for Boss of Black Org.
[this point i.e the boss needs to be a rich guy has been put on frequently in forums]

3]This also clears the point of why Vermouth is protecting Ran, as Officer Shiratori doesn't want Kogoro to interfere in their working since if Ran is hurt then Kogoro will investigate the case more thoroughly.

4]As for killing Kogoro after he has found the Org. as it has happened in most of the cases, Boss wouldn't like the  Cops to know even about their existence.[Though attempt to kill Kogoro had been done before,          Episode 425.The Moment the Black Org. reaches out, but it was Gin's idea not an Order from the Boss].

5]This point is too much personal,His eyes are, as Shinchi says, of a Cold-Hearted Murderer.And also posing as a Cop he can easily delude the investigation if it happens to be for the Org.

6]Explanation for inability of Haibara to feel his presence as a Black Member, as she usually claims, can just be because of his superior ability to get easily mixed up with anyone[Pre-requsite to be a good Villian], also he has a good team/Org. management qualities as shown in Episode 358.Metropolitan Police Officer Love Story 5.

Well these were some of the points I did like to put forward for consideration.

he would certainly make for an unlikely candidate...

Shiratori 白鳥 the white bird already with the police (a white bird in the black organization )

it is unlikely.  but all valid points.  i like it.    i dunno which episode it is (or episodes) but shiratori gets this look in his eyes that makes you want to peg him as the murderer.  even if it's not even possible.  it's more noticeable for the early episodes i think than the later ones.

As Ten said, Shiratori could be read as "white bird", which will contrast with "Nanatsu no ko" ("The seven crows") being his cell phone number...

Pretty good thought, better than Agasa being the boss.

He is always in my focus and would fit just nicely into the sheme. Very unreadable, with a lot of money behind him, and always a little suspicious.

No way.. Shiratori was more-or-less "patsy" for movie 1.. and while he is by far the most astute of the inspectors(below Megure) he seems more likely to figure out Conan's identity than to be in the BO(though I have said many times, I think Megure already KNOWS, I mean he knew Shinichi as a kid..)

I have said time and time again that Shiratori is suspicious as heck. I wouldn't be surprised one bit.


Whoever the boss is, I think we've already met him or her more than once.

I like most of your theory about Shiratori, but isn't it already fairly explained as for why Vermouth wants to protect Ran? It doesn't seem like the most practical matter but I think most if not all of it just has to do with the fact that Vermouth is impressed by truly good/righteous characters (calling Ran Angel for saving the life of a serial killer).

Ninzaburo Shiratori was a movie-original character until he was promoted to canon manga character in the first MPD Love Story (Treadmill Murder Case, files 208-210).

He hadn't even been thought of at the beginning of the manga, and Aoyama-sensei has already hinted that
a) That Man's name was featured already early in the manga
b) That Man's true identity has been hinted at early in the manga

So, I don't think so...

This thread is over 4 years old and the OP being replied to hasn't been on in a year.

Not only is this a major zombie bump, but the topic starter forgot Shiratori was a movie-only character brought into manga for the sole purpose of being Takagi's rival for Sato, nothing more.

False, Shiratori like Wine is like Kogoro afraid of Height and Kid knowing Conan's identity, all 3(there are more) are Movie only facts that are only true in Movies and OVAs(Ova2 and Movie 2), only things that happen in the manga files are considered canon material, things that appear  movies/ovas/anime original episodes only are not.

LMAO, there was one reason and only one reason Vermouth is protecting Ran, Ran saved her life in NYC.


p.s The OP watch episode 358-359 and see Shiratori=Anokata because he organized a stake out to interrupt the Sato Takagi Date,  I see it and think if Shiratori were Anokata Takagi would have been dead a long time before that episode.
