i reckon ai's fear was greater in this file 666 than the bus hijack case, where okiya showed his deduction skill.

please note: it's the case about the names of 4 fish: mackerel, carp, sea bream and flounder

One thing I learned about Ai and her fear: it is based on smell. In the busjacking case. Ai says the Bo members have a smell to them and suggest that the more smell they have the more important there are

Errr.....I don't think so...if it's based on fish industry then wouldnt ai knnow about something??

Didn't you see the middle of 129? A fish shop was burned down after she stopped gutting and cleaning there and escaped through the grinder by shrinking, to stop her from giving away any fish-related secrets.

no way.  it's the booze smell.  that's why they all get alcohol inspired code-names. 
it's their favorite drink.  the smell oozes out of them. 

... although, standing next to kogoro all the time, i dunno how she could distinguish one smell from the other.

I've been thinking about the BO smell (Pahahaha! XD) for a while, and I've had a little idea.
A few years back, I had some neighbours who started growing their own cannabis. The smell from the stuff was really disgustingly strong, so much that it came up through the floor and lingered for a long time after they'd been evicted.
So, I wonder if the smell from Black Organization members could actually be related to the growing of drugs. I think the Organization would be able to gain money for their grand schemes this way, but there's one slight inconsistency- the reason why higher-up members have a stronger smell. Something like drug production seems like small potatoes compared to the aims of the Org., so if this were true, the lower members would be more likely to have a strong smell.
Still, I hope my idea provides an inspiration for all of you.

Remember the Renya Karasuma case (Gold Manor, vol. 30)? Gosho definitely has some weird ideas about marijuana and it has been my long-standing opinion that these two mysterious people were BO members.

That's suspicious, particularly the part about how it was "spiked with something else". It doesn't seem like just anyone would have access to the kind of drug that could cause a reaction like that. Maybe an off-shoot from the APTX research?

Really?  There's a lot of drugs that could cause that kind of reaction, and they aren't exactly uncommon.  Less common than pot, sure, but not anything ridiculously impossible to procure.

I don't have access to that volume atm but I was under the impression that that's just what Gosho thinks pot does. Even if it's not, it wouldn't have to be anything outlandish.

I'm pretty sure if it were an actual smell, especially the smell of pot, Conan would have definitely been able to smell it too.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was implied when it went off around Okiya in the Ikkaku Rock case that it's an aura or pressure that she senses.
