I hope Gosho isn't pulling the "the universe collapses and every character is in the same room together" card only to do nothing with it, here.

Also, I'd be pretty worried about Conan having the candy on that first page if it's poisoned.

Also, seems sorta reckless for Heiji to just act so casual around Conan when he knows that Sera's been asking about him and just told Conan to be Shinichi's "stand in". :V

the first few pages i was like: lol, rofl, lmao...
and now we know that ran is quite confused about Seras mom or better to say sera asking her to confirm about her

so funny and yet with so much suspense... enjoyed reading it very much

about the candy... seems risky for ran and kazuha

Guess: Sera would corner Heiji into admitting Conan = Kudou

Boring chapter :
-the case in a restaurant for the 77777th time, we've seen that lots of times already
-Sera appearing yet again...I wish Gosho would space out her appearances, or had done it before instead of waiting 2years to intoduce her.
-Camel being there doesn't interest me at all.
-Heiji is very annoying. I hope Conan wins this duel but knowing Gosho it will be a tie.

since I'm not Japanese I can't speak for the people there, but I think in Asia generally it's very uncommon to find foreigners (i.e. Westerners) who can speak the local language and I can see how people like Kogoro would think that it's a suspicious thing. :p

re: the case... Abe-chan = ame-chan (candy)? Camel might have misheard it and misinterpreted it as a name since he's not familiar with the kansai dialect (Ran was also not familiar with the expression 'ame-chan'). doesn't help me solve the case but i thought it's probably a potential clue? haha.

Or maybe is it a red herring :P

Yep, japanese people think their language is impossible to be learnt by westerners to the point that if you utter even one correct sentence they atare at you (confirmed by experience).

I agree with caribou about the name and the candy (well, it's a good possibility at least :P), it might also why Heiji has figured out it's a murder (dialect).

I loved Megure's face and Kogoro's answer. Priceless.

Sera was very hard on Camel... she might be angry with FBI because of his brother "death" or is she just playing with i like a cat with a mouse? Just speculating... Still Gosho is truly fixted with the breast stuff :P I don't knwo if he recognises the same features of akai in her because being a new fbi I doubt he would know Akai's sister.

I like Heiji, he is so energetic and fun to watch. I hope he puts a good front on the battle of deductions.

Very good and promising file :)

EDIT: Good question about the toilet Conan234. It migt have slipped 'though.

@MaitreDetective: yeah that's true. :p

@Conan324: yeah, that's a good point about the phone. it looks like the toilet seat is down. unless he dropped the phone in, put down the toilet seat, sat down and ate the sweet himself, it must have been a murder done by someone else...

@Yukimi: i agree about the obsession with breasts...i'm starting to think that sera's boobs might be a huge (or small, oops) clue to the plot??!?? (because Gosho keeps harping on it) @_@

also, I thought Ran said a weird thing when she said that recently Shinichi and Heiji have been working together to solve cases... we know that Heiji and Conan do that a lot, but how many times has Shinichi worked together with Heiji, as Shinichi himself? (this is a genuine question cos my memory is not that good. :p)

This case is frustrating.  It feels like we're gonna be so excited for some major development, then be let down again. :|

I'm not certain that Sera mentioning her mother is actually too big a deal.  I doubt her mother is actually Vermouth, but it could be that she is dropping hints to Conan about Vermouth, like some sort of suggestion that she knows about the Organization.  Camel recognizing her face certainly suggests that she may be Akai's sister, though.

And if that is the case, then it makes sense for her to know something about Vermouth, since her brother chased her from New York to Japan and who-knows-where-else.  Of course, I doubt Akai would have just told her about it, given the danger and whatnot, but that doesn't mean she couldn't either be FBI herself, CIA, or just have looked through his stuff/followed him around at some point.

Interesting chapter, but the case itself doesn't seem all that interesting right now. I wonder if Sera's constant mention of her mothers big breasts is just for comedy or it actually is relevant, I hope it is the latter.

About this whole East vs. West thing. I thought it was pretty clear it didn't matter who was better because there is only "One Truth" which now that I think about it, why doesn't Conan say this anymore? But anyways if Conan isn't better then Heji than I don't see the point in this story being about him. He can't be a silver bullet if there are detetives who are better than him so I don't see Heiji winning this. At the very least they come to the same conclusion or Heiji solves the case, but Conan points out a bunch of extra factors that Heiji didn't see like what happened with Yuusaku vs. Shinichi.
Spoiler:
Which, by the way, should totally happen again.

It's not even a maybe. There is like a 99.9% chance that Sera is Akai's sister and .1% she isn't his sister, but definitely related to him somehow. If she isn't then Gosho totally mindfucked everyone.
