Hmm... what's the probability someone told Mouri they thought the explosion on the train could be linked to KID and that's why he was late...? It's unlikely, but still...
I also think KID is probably Sonoko, though Sera/Ran are my second choices. KID's favourite disguises are teenage/young adult females after all .
Oh, about the phone thing, KID would have Ran's number from the train case so... well, it's not really likely either, but I'd find it kinda interesting myself.

The key imo is Ran's cellphone and who send the message. Why does Kid deliberately not want to get Ran involved on the Carpet if he sent the message, the secret behind that should be Kid's trick probably involves that. Kogoro is way too obvious, also Sera could be knocked out(Ran is as good as Sera and Kid knocked her out twice with gas) but  I am leaning Sonoko as she seems more suspicious.

p.s Ran got the message only seconds before the carpet got pulled, so she probably was still shocked by the development. I am willing to bet she will share that message she got with everyone at the beginning of the next file, that will be the first step of Conan's investigation. The message might even be some kind of code Conan will have to solve, can't wait.

About the bathroom comment. Assuming Kid is Sonoko and the real Sonoko is at the bathroom of the first floor (or there's some other reason why he doesn't want someone to go there), so yeah, Sera goes to the second floor, but what stops other people from entering the bathroom at the first floor?

Perhaps Kid hung a "currently under maintenance" sign or something on the door, but Sera being a detective interested in the case, it could make her wonder.

But this is mere speculation...! Let's see what happens next week. NEXT WEEK ;_;

i think it is really interesting what everyone suggests (im a german natural and drunk - please excuse my language skills) and surely we will know. but dont you think its unnessesary? I mean, its gosho-sama who will make the next move!!! He is the King! And i think kid will be forced to be part of conans great success without being named as a hero. He will not watch conan be killed. he will never allow bad people hurting the innocent AND his tantei chan!

since the jewel is supposed to be stuck/glued to the turtle, it could be possible Kid hasn't stole it yet. But he always documents himself on each gem and it's legend which allows him in many cases to steal it easier or to figure out the authenticity. I also have no clue how Kid stole it.

I haven't checked the release dates,but which week will Shounen Sunday be off because of Obon?

Unnecessary? You mean making theories and trying to make deductions in order to solve the mystery Gosho provides us before he gives us the resolution? If so, then no, I don't think it's unnecessary.

I'll agree with everyone here: most likely Kid candidate falls under Kogoro, Sonoko, and Sera.

Sonoko is especially fishy given her restroom comment. Plus, like some have mentioned, I have yet to see Kid dressed as Kid out of usual Kid case main cast.

Though, that doesn't mean we can completely rule out Kogoro and Sera.

Kid isn't familiarized enough with her

The argument that Sera is too new is kind of weak. He has already seen her on the train. Plus, when Kid first appeared in DC, he disguise as Ran. He didn't know Ran well enough then, but still chose to disguise as Ran.

Hiding the turtle either behind the fake aquarium wall or rock is quite plausible. Kid has done similar trick in the clock tower story in MK when Kid hid the arms of clock behind a fake clock face.

Can't wait for the next chapter T_T

I'm anxious to know what message Ran received and from whom she received it. (my gut's guess is Ran received it from Kid)

cant kid just put a layer or some kind to hide the turtle? so actually the rurtle is still there.

many chapters ago kid have done similar thing, make it appear that the thing already stolen but the reality is not. he will get it later
