No break next week.
It's a double issue, though, so in two weeks there's a magazine break.

Spoiler:
Just read the raw. Love how Kogoro and Shiho/Ai seem to be accusing Ryusuke and Yoko of being lovers—I especially get a kick out of Shiho's/Akai's indignant stares at Yoko. :D

As for the case, Shinichi/Conan seems to have found his clue—a dark dot on the blanket, and in a coat on a nearby hanger. Still have to wait for translations for the questioning, and what Shinichi/Conan found, specifically.

A bunch of cigarettes (I think) were also found—perhaps the bathroom was the waiter's place to smoke, or was part of the trick, though the waiter's involvement in this, either way, is quite likely.

The case will probably wrap up next file, and Ryusuke and Yoko will turn out not to be lovers, most likely—they seemed to be in shocked denial rather than deflecting denial when being confronted by Kogoro and Shiho/Ai.
“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”
“Education never ends... it is a series of lessons, with the greatest for the last.”

I wonder if this couple turns out to be just friends, would Haibara re-download Yoko's songs and sing along to them? :)) She likes those songs partially because Higo likes them too :))
Met DC by chance then about 3 hours later it scared the sh*t out of me in Spring 2001 and I ran for my life.
But boredom made me come to it once again in Winter 2004.

And I fell for it. Ever since then. Though sometimes it still frightens me like the first time :)

As for the culprit, my vote goes to the sommelier. In file 925, he came back from the storeroom, looking for the owner. This gives him an opportunity to commit the murder. He used something to make it look like the victim is sleeping on the couch, because, at that time, we don't see any part of the owner sticking out from under the blanket. What's suspicious as well is how he asked the owner's woman and the waiter to search other rooms, as if he wants to keep them away from the storeroom. The message sent to the waiter's phone could be sent by the sommelier from the owner's phone, as he's not seen at that moment. He specifically asks that Higo and Yoko be brought to the storeroom, where the body is, to pin the murder on them. In an official English volume I read that the prime suspect is, in some cases like that, the one who found the body.

This is all I could deduce from 925. If there's anything in 926 that proves me wrong, I guess that means I'm as good at detective work as Kogoro when he's awake.

Max1996 wrote:What's suspicious as well is how he asked the owner's daughter and the waiter to search the restroom,
The notion that the woman was the owner's daughter was false, the waitress is actually the owner's girlfriend
the english that has already come out used the phrase " Just because you're the owner's woman"
The owner is 31 (according to 926) and she is 27.
The waiter is the girl's ex-boyfriend at age 28.
I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.

Oh, I guess I misread that bit. Doesn't change anything about the rest of my deduction, though.

Spoiler:
Although the sommelier seems to be the most suspicious one, I'm still wondering about the disappearance of Higo's phone and how could that be related to the case...conan mentioned something about the waitress changing the tablecloth after she spilled the wine on it, maybe Higo's phone disappearance has something to do with this....To me the whole incident of spilling the wine and changing the tablecloth doesn't seem to be a mere coincidence. Well, even if she is not the culprit, I'm guessing she has done this for some other purpose.

I've pointed out a number of clues that point to the sommelier being the culprit. However, until 927 is released, I can't say for certain that conclusion is correct.

Here's a summary of my rough analyze of this case:
Spoiler:
The time of death is estimated between 7 and 8 a clock, meaning that he was killed after they started searching for him, which was around 7. Now, the question remains, when could he have been killed? My deduction points to when they started searching for him the FIRST time, and the only one who was alone that time was Banba Reiko(waitress).

Here's what I'm thinking:
- Her Plan was to frame Higo and Yoko. But in order to do so, she had to avoid Higo making contact with asuka, while he's still alive, so she intentionally spilled the wine on their table in order to take Higo's phone when she was changing the table cloth. She already knew beforehand that he usually placed his phone on the table(from former visits) and that yoko always forgot that her phone battery was low(from the internet, like kogoro mentioned in 925).
- After snatching his phone she texted asuka with Higo's phone to secretly meet him in the storeroom. then when they started to look for him around 7 a clock, she went to the storeroom and killed him with the penknife she had taken before from the backroom. after killing him she took asuka's phone, in order to lure higo and yoko to the basement later, and also his shoes(when she was walking up the stairs we couldn't see her right hand so it's possible she was holding something). before returning the keys into it's original place she went to the backroom and left the shoes there, then returned to the others with the key and put it back on the wall.
- after 10 min, she went to look on the backroom, she put the shoes close to the couch and took out all the jackets from the locker and put them under the blanket to make it look like asuka was sleeping on the couch. when the others once again left after she showed them stuffed blanket, she entered the backroom again and put the jackets back in the locker, then went back and returned the key to it's original place. 10 min later, she sent text with asuka's phone to kounoe Yasuto(waiter) to bring Higo and Yoko to the storeroom so that they can be framed.
- Proof for that he was never sleeping in the couch is the fact that was found dead on the storeroom without shoes on. Someone who likes cleanliness wouldn't walk to a storeroom with his bare socks. The reason for taking his shoes was so that she could create her fake alibi when making the others believe that he took off his shoes in the backroom and went to sleep.

Motive
Probably because of a break-up or something worse he did to her.

Unsolved Issues
- Don't know how she was able to make sure that Yamada Akimichi(Sommelier) didn't enter the storeroom, but she was sure that wouldn't enter, maybe because of certain behavior he has.
- the wine stain on the blanket and jacket could've gotten there from Higo's phone(that got soaked after touching the wet part of the tablecloth when she was changing it) but I'm not sure how the small hole got there, could be with the help of the ''convenient object'' Conan was referring to.

What I think is an Important hint:
- the shoes in the locker
- ''accidental'' spill of wine
- small hole and stain on blanket and jacket
- cleanliness behavior of asuka
- Higo's and asuka's phone disappearing
- the knowledge of yoko always forgetting to charge her phone
Remember, this was roughly thought through so everything could be wrong interpretated!

I'm sorry, but there is one problem. The sommelier searched the storeroom AFTER the waitress did. If the waitress killed the owner during her search, the sommelier would've found the body. The sommelier's search is also between 7 and 8, which means he could've done it as well.

I already mentioned this on my analyze as u can see,...
Spoiler:
If you read FILE 926 pg 11, megure asked the sommelier(Yamada) if he found anything while searching in the storeroom, The sommelier(Yamada) answered, according to the translation, that he was indeed absent, that he only called out from the doorway with the waiter(Kounoe) but they never got any response!(proving that he wasn't even alone when looking there, or so I've interpreted it)
I said on my last post, if you look under ''unsolved issues'', that the way she made sure that they didn't enter to look is still a mystery to me, but I still believe she used some trick...
