I think that the father friend could be Yusaku Kudo, great novelist and rich. And Masumi's family has something to do with Interpol, mentioned at chapter 51 by Yusaku Kudo. He says:I have got friends in Interpol ... The father of Masumi could be the friend in Interpol of Yusaku.
FBI, CIA and Interpol. Is more or less logical, no? LOL

waaaa, smart one, I've always speculated that yusaka has some connections with the FBI ever since i saw that case!!! ^^
