(This is more of info from a martial artist perspective) JKD isn't even actually a martial art, it is a philosophy and way of adapting other martial arts to a personal style that accentuates the positive aspects of an individual and minimizes weaknesses!

No... No you can't... Bruce Lee learned many martial arts... However... The one he learned as a child was Wing Chun. Though, to be fair... Ran would not have faired as well against Wing Chun... She'd have gotten bloodied up... The guy only threw one punch, Wing Chun throws as many punches as one can muster in the shortest amount of time. Ran wouldn't have expected it.

And sure Conan can be wrong, BUT Gosho better correct it somehow! Kids learn things from this show and manga in Japan, so he is giving kids misinformation.

This is what I was speaking of. Bruce learned Wing Chun from Ip Man at a young age, and it was also a big part in JKD's creation (and in a part of it called trapping) but he moved away from it a bit.

However, JKD being a style could be argued since after his death some of his students divided on weather to teach the ideas of JKD and some of the important stuff (trapping, centerline, ect.) and some techniques but over let the students make it their own, which was done by Dan Inasanto and Brandon Lee. The other half went with Bruce Lee's style of fighting itself when teaching it, but in terms of intent it's not a style.

Not really, since it's a mind set to learn what is good for you and not to follow any style of itself. Also it said he learned it as a kid so .

i'm voting undecided BECAUSE there are number of options i'm torn between. I'm fairly certain this isn't JUST a new character, however i can't help but compare this guys arrival to that of Eisuke.

out of nowhere, guy is pretty awkward and he has the hots for Ran. If this is anything like that files with Eisuke this should get interesting

and for the record, i'm all for seeing Conan imbed a soccer in the side of this guy's head if he starts gettin' all frisky with Ran. we all know Shinichi can be the jealous type : P
