Come on, no one's even trying to solve it yet? I at least have a good guess as to why Conan knows those two weren't related xD
See Here. ( I am not voting because there is no 'does not need saving' option, or for that matter no  'other' )

As for the other too early for that. Waiting for the Db report

IMO, it was just too obvious that these people weren't that kid's parents.  What's left to talk about?  It seems that that has been made clear, so the next thing to theorize on is who is going to help assist the DBs.  Anyway, the actual conversation showed that.  The way the parents spoke to the boy was odd and the fact that they didn't have much of a reaction (like any parent would) by the boy going on to say that they weren't his parents.  Maybe Conan did notice the looks (but as far as Japanese series go, I don't even think much of that), but I still feel that the actual conversation had more to do with it.

it may have seemed obvious to us, but keep in mind that we're the readers and we know that there's a case coming, so we expect things like this. To the DBs, for all we know this isn't really all that weird to them.

there was discussion earlier about the genetic differences between the kid and the "parents", so people have been discussing the case itself but people seem more interested in who's gonna come to their rescue anyway. :P
Well, technically, discussing about who will save them is more on topic ::) Considering that's the question
But who am I to talk about being on topic

I still find it odd that Ai didn't find something strange with it.  She's been observant before.  Remember that case where she and Agasa were stranded and were picked up by strangers?  She made observations about them and was suspicious of them.  Of course, later on, we find out that they were police officers and wanted to go to the Detective agency.

That aside, I was theorizing as to why Conan suspected that the two people weren't that boy's real parents, and I pointed out how strange sounding the entire conversation was between the three and how maybe that's why Conan suspected something was up with that kid and his so-called "parents".

well i think conan deduced that the boy isnt lying is because why would a kid try to fool other kids when they are as hopeless as him anyways???
In what way would they be "hopeless"?  Also, the kid seemed desperate anyway to find anyone who could possibly help him (where there are kids, there's usually an adult nearby).  Like someone else pointed out, the conversation between the boy and his "parents" didn't come across as natural at all.  This could've been what clued Conan into being suspicious over the three in the first place.

I believe, that Conan / Shinichi will not put a prejudgment to anyone. He is a detective with a logic mind. Even if that boy used to lie, he will not turn his back on him. He will still help him as hard as he can. Because Conan / Shinichi believe that there is no reason to doubt people who scream for help and there is no reason needed to help each other. ( just like the case in New York with a serial murder who threat Ran )

The mistery to solve in this case is "How did Conan find out that they weren't the kid's parents?", saving the kid itself is not a mystery, probably they'll set a trap or something like that.

uh, Feb, did you even read the last 15 posts or so?

and I agree that the conversation was odd, I just thought there had to be a physical clue as well, knowing Conan. I'm more curious to know if he's gonna become Shinichi again, since that's what happens EVERY TIME he gets a cold xD

I've been secretly wishing this as well, considering that the last two cases both started off with a mention of what happened during the london case (on both sides of the fence), but no mention of it here, hoping they do something else with it. D:

I'm surprised there isn't a "Shinichi" option on the poll. The DBs are about to get stabbed, they lost contact with Conan over the phone, then the door opens and...^^

Saying that he turns into Shinichi every time he gets a cold is a huge exaggeration. Conan's only turned back to being Shinichi again during the following cases/story arcs: The Case of the Murdered Diplomat, Desperate Revival Story Arc, The Return (Shirigami-Sama Case), and The London Story Arc; during The Return (Shirigami-Sama Case) We see him turn back into Shinichi twice during the London Story arc when see him and he turns back to normal a third time "off camera". He was sick with a cold during three out of four cases and seeing as we can confirm that he doesn't have to be sick to turn to normal because of the London Story Arc we can dismiss the idea of him becoming Shinichi again just because he's sick. That and the fact the he and Haibara have gotten sick without turning back to to their real selves further shows this to be a huge exaggeration as well. Conan was sick during the Magic Lovers Club Case and the Suspicious Curry Case. Haibara was sick from the Four Porsches Case, through the Hidden Bathroom Secret Case, during The Convenience Store Trap Case, during the Head-to-Head With Black Organization Case. She has changed back once and once only during Reunion With the Black Corps. I don't see Shinichi showing up the save the day just because Conan is sick with a cold.

I don't think Shinichi is coming back either.  It didn't even come to mind for me.  I still feel that it's going to be Okiya if the story does go down that route.
