Even Ran was kind of embarrassed about it afterward, but that's her character type: she's impulsive when it comes to protecting people. She thinks about the consequences later.

the thing that was a bit ridiculous is Ran who was protecting Ai's breast, and let her head uncovered... ::)
other than that, the whole scene make sense,I guess...

Yeah, I mean Calvados could have aimed for Haibara's head easily. And even if a handgun isn't extremly accurate, Vermouth was close enough for her to aim correctly.

Yeah, I agree with you on the point of Gosho forcing her to be there. I mean, Ran is one main character. And Gosho, in an effort to make sure Ran is still an important character, never wants to leave her out of any important incidents. Eventhough the BO is supposed to have almost nothing relevant to Ran, Gosho will definitely find some reason for her to be there, no matter how lame the reason may be. So I think, Ran will somehow be involved in the final BO arc too. I personally don't like Ran's presence in any BO arc, but I guess I have to deal with it.

Yeah, but that doesn't make her being suspicious upon seeing Jodie's photographs, nor the way she discovered them, implausibly forced writing. I know a lot of you lot can't tell the difference between personal preferences and actual critical analysis, but sheesh...

Or Vermouth could have just walked to where Ran and Haibara were and shot her in the head, the Calvados part is not the only unrealistic one lol
Haibara: They have a scent, a scent all of them carry...
Conan: No wonder, they're drunkards

But Jodie beat her to it (shot her)
And if she get near, maybe Ran Karate kick her (actually Ran should have done it in the first place, but considered it, not only vermouth holding gun so she just shield Ai and pray not to got shot)

She did a bit better job in the manga; however Ran rolled off Haibara when she fell unconscious. Also Haibara wasn't cooperating.

Actually, now she's just covering the neck, her head might be more exposed.

Agreed. Ran always takes initiative. Though I think it is IRONIC that she was hiding in there the whole time....and not passing out from lack of air. Then again, how Conan survived that was IRONIC too. And where did Ran get a bullet-proof vest? Wait did she mention where? Forgot.
L- wrote: Exactly, she sees pictures so she hides in a trunk? What the hell?? Akai could have, I know he didn't want him to see her but I don't think she would risk her life over it. BO doesn't have to equal epic fight but that was the biggest BO encounter at the time the hype just called for an epic fight.

I was just giving out examples and suggestions anyways I just think it could have gone waayyyy better without Ran.

It would have been better for Conan to somehow save her I mean he did promise too, as Ran has not made such promise nor does she even know Ai that well.
LMAO ROFL....wow.

It's anime. The pictures were just a reason to explain Ran's presence, it doesn't compare with real life but it still works fine. Gosho uses that a lot (the woman in the London Arc being the last example).
No matter how I look at it, i don't think Akai saving Ai could have worked.
And I think it would have been waayyy lamer without Ran, the "Move it Angel" was the climax of the episode, IMO.
The AiRan relationship had been building up since the mystery in the net, it's much more interesting then a one time promise.
I still think it was epic, not necessarly in terms of fighting (this isn't One Piece) but in terms of revelations and suspense.
Sadly, the London arc...suck. I'm sorry. It did.

I don't know, it had it's climatic moments, but there are BO cases that are told better by Gosho than that. Ran only comes in randomly when she slightly suspects something, which anyone can do, even the DBoys. Haibara will always be involved with the BO. That is the nature of how Gosho told the story. I mean, Vermouth is more reluctant to kill Ran than the DBoys, but the DBoys could bring the police or something. They could've had a detective badge. And any of them might have caught something funny about Jodie-Sensei. She could've been any of their teachers, Ran or DBoys. I just fill the DBoys can fill the same position as Ran. If Ayumi felt that Conan was in danger, she'd come running too. The story could be told a number of ways to fill it's role, whether told around the DBoys or Ran. Whereas to fill Haibara's role, there would have to be a different character entirely. Like maybe Jodie-sensei. Which wouldn't work because she's gotta gun and doesn't need any protection. Haibara was only fit to perform her role in that arc.

I've been "tl;dr"ing her posts since I realized she had no idea the modify button exists, have they really been that bad?

I think we are way overdue for a Haibara focused anything at this point. Hope the rumours are true.
