Nah, Ayumi's still pretty much her best friend.  She's just reclusive, so this will be good for her to do something normal with a close friend.  Also, she definitely would not feel safe at Agasa's house.  Remember, she doesn't trust Okiya at all, and he's right next door.

Best friend if you don't count Conan or Agasa. Still, they have so little in comon that I can hardly imagine what they would do at this sleepover. I bet Ayumi is bewildered as well. Ai might want to relive her childhood, but this seems a bit ooc for me.
Also, she may be suspicious of Okiya, but I think she knows she can trust him. She's just annoyed with Conan that he doesn't tell her the whole truth

This file isn't so great, actually. But it could develop into something great, many things that have been foreshadowed could come to a close. I still hope this potential isn't wasted.

No, they're still secondary characters even if they have plot importance.  Otherwise you could say every character in FMA is a main character, since they all have plot importance in some manner.  Main character means main character, not important character.  Secondary characters can be just as important, if not more important, than the main characters.

So this is just a question of terminology to you?
Even if you say that Ai isn't a main character, she is still important to the plot. More important than Ran or Kogoro.

What is your explanation for this journey, then? Just to get our hopes up? There are two things DC and London/England have in common: Sherlock Holmes and Elena Miyano. If this turns out to be some sill Holmes tribute, I'll be on the next plane to Tokyo and accidentally drop a bookshelf on Gosho.

Just say this case only turns out to be some Holmes tributes like you said, not to mention the possibility of another Ran D.I.D, Conan uses the last / reserve pills to save the day, and voila.. ShinxRan moments... which certainly would be left unresolved again like the Shirigami case..

My thoughts exactly, Dus! I probably won't read the file when it's translated to English, but I'll probably start reading the second one on (though I'll probably be confused  ) This has the potential to be a really great case with some equally great character (if not plot) development.

By the way, I think ALL of you ladies and gentlemen are really smart and have some great theories!

i hope it's the start of progress on the BO cases and other ACCTUAL good cases but not that it ends. i mean why introduce Miike-san as a love interest for a secondary character if she never shows up again? even Kobayashi and sato showed up alot of other times,even yumi.

i hope theres more. i hope he continues and it doesn't end for a long time. i like it too much.

I think there's enough piled up material for this manga to reach file 800, even if Aoyama starts resolving the main plot now and doesn't stop until he ends it. The only thing I'm hoping is that if he starts another long BO arc like clash of red and black, and then he goes back to "fillers", that he just does it to solve the non BO threads he has been opening, and then comes right back into it and finishes it.
