[768-770] Jeet Kune Do: Sera's Identity Speculation Thread

I'd like to share my strange ideas that have been floating in my head...

The housewife is the murderer, since she is the only character so far that seems to have a grudge against the victim and she is the only named one out of the three (four, if you count Sera; but I have a hunch that he would have a bigger role)

I, also, would like at least part of the supposed spoiler to not be true. I've had it with Conan/Shinichi always having to be better than the other detectives.

I wouldn't be surprised. Conan will always be intellectually above everyone else (or at least at the same level), the BO being the only exception with Gin and Vermouth outsmarting Conan here and there (and even in these cases, it's (almost) always a tie).

Who knows. Gosho may always choose to put it in a twist one day and say 'hey, I want an actual rival for Shinichi/Conan'.

I doubt it. Conan has become an example for kids in Japan, and therefore you can't have him losing against the first newcomer.

eh......why? If he is supposedly a role model, then it's even a better reason to have him lose at least once. A good character is a character you can relate to, a good character is a character that has faults and sometimes downfalls. If Gosho wants Conan to "win" every freaking time a supposed-to-be rival is introduced, then I don't see how he is an example for kids in Japan. In life, you sometimes lose and sometimes win. I want to see Conan's reaction when he loses in a case to another detective, it's a side of his character we didn't see yet.

I, also, would like at least part of the supposed spoiler to not be true. I've had it with Conan/Shinichi always having to be better than the other detectives.

But the other part - about the hint at being Akai's sister would definitely work out with the whole luggage/hotel thing. She was in America, Akai supposedly died, she came looking.

Could be true, but for me it's too similar story to Eisuke's (omg, I need to find my sister etc.). Actually, I don't want Sera to be relative of any character. It would be better if she was somehow connected with BO.

People, do you forget that Conan really loses in a few cases (mostly with his father, other cases could be that one with Shiho's sister and Moonlight Sonata --> of course, there weren't mistakes actually, but still Conan felt like a loser).

If spoilers were true, I would be quite disappointed. Not because Sera's a girl (that would be cool to have female detective), but because she made mistake in such a simple case with one suspect. I also want her to be on the same level as Conan, so she would be a REAL rival in deduction, but like that she would be just a rival in love. Hmm... We will see. Can't wait for next file and check if spoilers were true.

Is the last part legit or just some random piece of speculation? What kind of hint is it?

And from the looks of the last chapter, Sera didn't exactly beat him anyway, she just drew the same conclusions at the same time and was faster to speak up. Subaru has been shown to be capable of the same and Heiji too, to a degree.

He doesn't exactly have to fail, but it would be nice if someone was genuinely faster than him. Even when Kogoro did top him at one point (realising who Ruri's father was) he still neded his help with the exposition.

And if Sera is bested by Shinichi, it will just be Heiji's first appearance all over again.

It's based upon the supposed spoiler (not sure where the spoiler cbox people got it from) of her name being Sera Masumi. Ask HADAA for the details but it has something to do with Char and Casval etc.

After reading the newest file...

Now I'm sure that Sera is more interested in case and Conan than in Ran. She/He's way of talking like "I'm a detective like that little boy" (btw, how she/he knows? it seems like Sera has just arrived in Tokio, so she/he could come from anywhere), "Right, little boy?", "It's getting exciting, right, little boy?".
Besides, why she/he's talking to him "little boy" if she/he knows Conan's name? It's weird. I've a feeling that Sera really has a business with Conan - just as I said earlier, she/he knows him and wants to impress him or it's a simple trap. BUT~! Sera isn't better detective than Conan, they both solved the mystery in the same time (looks like, because a theory of murder will be shown in the next file). It's such a pity that Gosho didn't show Conan's thoughts about Sera, so we can judge only basing on his expression. 

I think "little boy" is used as a endearing kinda term.  Not sure how to say it in English.  Maybe "kiddo".
