It's like this...

Why the heck would the ORG care about some random kid?

But if that random kid looked exactly like someone they knew from when she was that young, someone they were actively searching for, there'd be trouble.

The BO doesn't even know to look for Kudou Shinichi. They think he's dead. Done.

Makes sense.

...Still feels weird to me. I guess I'll just read your post over and over again until the logic sinks in. Of course, since when has logic applied to crazy people/theorists? :P

Eep...my bad (The characters/kanji)

Thank you for explaining, Sonoci. It's much more clear now.

Progressively, Kid's appearances seem to have gained greater importance. While it's unnecessary for some of these cases to be out there, one could say that he's helped Conan with a couple of cases too (Red Herring case, and one of the cases involving Kirchemon Saizamu (Did I spell that right?)). Gosho noted that "the story of Kid and phantom lady will be left for another time. There's an awful lot about Kid's background/history for a minor reoccurring character. Still, you're right, so far Kid's involvement hasn't done anything to directly affect the plot, but it's not impossible for greater involvement of Kid in the future.

And speaking of Ai and newspapers, at one point, the Detective Boys were to be interviewed. If the interviewer had not winded up dead, what would Ai have done? She didn't seem to deliberately hide herself in that scenario.

Yeah, you're right. Kid's been gaining...'relevance', I suppose would be the word, as time has gone on. But, like you and I have said, he hasn't directly affected the plot yet. I want him to at least a little since it'd be a waste otherwise, but up until now it hasn't seemed as likely as I'd appreciate. :P

You bring up an interesting scenario. That case...why did she show up? I haven't seen/read that in a while, but from memory I don't recall her objecting it like you think she would. If anything, in that case it would've made the most sense for her to just opt out with something like 'I have a cold'. But she didn't. I guess she served a purpose in that case to remind Conan not to be so obviously mature in front of Kobayshi...but it's not like Ai knew the guy would die.

Curious.  :-X

Took a quick look at the case in question (something something Gathering Information on the DB) and:

The dude was a freelance writer for mostly women's interest magazines

They were gonna either have the interview at his house (what they had thought at first) or at a family restaurant (what later turned out to be the original plan). No photographers were ever mentioned. Certainly no television cameras (that was just the DBs' fantasy). The DB (and Kobayashi) dressed up just to make a good impression.

Sera might be the younger sister of Shuichi Akai. Sera has bags under her eyes identical to Shuichi Akai's. Also, Sera Masumi's name is also incredibly similar to Mobile Suit Gundam character Sayla Mass (セイラ・マス, Seira Masu). Akai's name is derived from Sayla Mass's older brother's name, Char Anzable. - written by Chekhov :3

It would be nice though. I would like to see Okiya's reaction to confirm :)
that could actually be true
it would be a good twist

You can't take something from DCW and post it here as if it were from DCW when it actually came from here:V

*reads the translation*
Spoiler:
a. Is it Sera that says her mom's boobs are big?
b. Am I totally wrong for immediately thinking of people we know that fit that description? ::)

No, I also thought of people I know with big batteries. I often do that.

And Sera is totally awesome.

"People with big batteries" makes you think of Shinichi?
Anyway, it's great how Conan trusts Sera because she vaguely reminds him of someone. That's the way not to be killed by the BO. Atta boy.
