Anyway, just thought of this - Conan's obsession with Holmes is actually pretty sick. He is willing to risk so much for a fictional character............
Haibara is a secondary character. The only main characters are Conan, Ran, and Kogorou. I see no reason that she has to show up, and plenty of reasons that she won't. Haibara has a vague connection to England, not London specifically, but that still doesn't give her a reason to go there. And she's yet to use any of the experimental cures, so why would she randomly use one now just because she thinks Kudo will go against his word and not save the second pill?

Spoiler:
He has taken greater risks in the past. Speaking of Holmes, I'm fairly sure you need knowledge of Doyle's works to solve the riddle. That means it won't take Conan long to solve it. Not that anything rings a bell.

It would probably help if the English made sense consistently throughout the chapter, so that you knew the puzzle did too.
This is probably the most amount of spoilers I've ever seen in a non-crunchyroll thread. =o
With all of your guys's theories, I'm getting curiouser and curiouser about how long this arc is going to be, and how important it'll be to the main story.
: The only main characters were Conan, Ran, and Kogoro. Along came Ai, Suichi, possibly Subaru... Secondary characters are Takagi, Sato, DBs... In short, people with no relation to the plot.
Her connections to England aren't vague (London being the only English city the Japanese know ofanyhow), she wants to know more about her mother and we had the foreshadowing with her mother's tapes. Kudo can always call her that he needs another pill. It makes sense if you assume she needs an excuse to go to London without drawing attention to it. >The message in the tapes
Yeah, it's probably best to wait for the Japanese version of the riddle, but maybe we can figure out the meaning of certain key words, e.g. pickle
Elena Miyano is English and that is more or less all we know about her.

Spoiler:
It could very well be the most important arc since Shuichi died. And it will probably the next Special once it's made into an anime.

GinRei - the voice of reason
Spoiler:
But yeah, I have to agree. It's evidant that Haibara is no longer one of the most important characters (as she was in the Vermouth arc).

whats the connection with Ai's mom to london???????.
Her mother was British. London is in Britain. Ergo...

No, they're still secondary characters even if they have plot importance. Otherwise you could say every character in FMA is a main character, since they all have plot importance in some manner. Main character means main character, not important character. Secondary characters can be just as important, if not more important, than the main characters.

So this is just a question of terminology to you?
Even if you say that Ai isn't a main character, she is still important to the plot. More important than Ran or Kogoro.
Spoiler:
What is your explanation for this journey, then? Just to get our hopes up? There are two things DC and London/England have in common: Sherlock Holmes and Elena Miyano. If this turns out to be some sill Holmes tribute, I'll be on the next plane to Tokyo and accidentally drop a bookshelf on Gosho.

not having Haibara around doesn't equal to "ALL HOPE IS LOST!!!!" - there is still the antidote thing which will hopefully develop. As far as I'm concerned, ANY development is good as long as it's an ACTUAL development and not like what happened last summer in the red shirt case

Yes, it could very well be "just" a Holmes tribute. However, the obvious implication in terms of story will be on Ran and Shinichi. After all, from what we can tell the first pill lasted just long enough for the check-in, flight to London, and getting off the flight. We also know from the Shirigami case that it has vastly decreased effects with each use. If the first one only just lasted, the second one definitely won't last long enough.

Is Shiho appearing or not
No one here can see the future, so we obviously don't know.
Has Haibara been left alone since she moved in with Agasa? I hope she goes off alone on a dangerous adventure (preferably one where she has told Conan not to go before).
