So.....first thoughts - So far Gosho is really rushing with this one. Yeah, it's a case with a lot of potential, but.......Gosho didn't start it so well. He basically abridged what I think should have been at least two files.
Second thoughts - who else think when they will animate this case, the english speakers will surprisingly know japanese fluently?
third thoughts - I really hope the turning into Shinichi will have some sort of concequences later on, otherwise, this is just stupid.
last thoughts - Haibara really didn't come with them? (can't tell cause I can't understand, duh). Agasa came, and it has been established that Ai is scared to stay alone in the house because of Okiya. So either she turned to Shiho in order to come as well, and Gosho leaves this as a surprise for later (Ai didn't use the antidote yet, so it gives her much more time than what it gives Conan), or Gosho left Haibara in Japan and created either a plot hole, or something will happen while Haibara is alone.

English doesn't seem to last long when it comes to Detective Conan. Already a young boy can speak Japanese in the file...

I'm also hoping this isn't one of those "I turned into Shinichi and almost got caught with Ran but came up with a lie" cases again. This better be juicy, otherwise I will be disappointed.

I was also wondering about Ai staying alone in that house back in Japan...that just didn't seem...well put together. I hope there is an explanation. Of course, if she did use her passport, the BO would really be able to find her, and they would know that Shiho is alive from her flashing the passport. I'm sure the BO has thought about her taking the plane out of Japan before, and are probably on the watch at airports. So, I take it she didn't have a choice but to stay behind.

However, It seemed like Gosho kind of ignored the bad situation she was in in Japan to create this Sherlock story for Conan, but left some holes.

Well, they do, but it would confirm that she is still alive and mobile from when they last saw her, is what I mean. It would also lead them to where she is going, and they would be able to track her.

I'm not sure about this file though. I can't wait to read the rest.

Gosho doesn't often misspell things, and intentional misspelling has been used to give clues in the past. I wouldn't ignore it.

He misspelled plenty in this chapter alone, plus horrible grammar.  People just wouldn't notice it without reading the raw since we redid the English to make sense.  For instance, the kid says "becase" instead of "because" in the flashback when the culprit gave him the letter.

I didn't check the raw so I assumed the correct grammar was due to the author not the translators. Thanks for correcting me.

I think that thread is mainly about spoken English..

@topic: I didn't notice the other theory Chekhov put forward until now: I like the idea about. Unfortunately, pickled eggs and bells (last orders, which would tie in with the last sentence) aren't exclusive to that pub, not even the name is.
But what the castle mean in a pub context? And who could the white back refer to?

I noticed that, but that particular pub is famous and I thought it had an interesting location (a central famous area), and was frequented by people who might be targets of a random attack (political, journalists, activists...). It's just a shot in the dark based on a particular line and probably not right.

There are more hints to consider. The creepy dude said the person would be murdered "right before your [the kid's] eyes." I assume that means the murder would be done semi publicly. Then there's "the tell Scotland yard that's my book of revelations" to consider.
