As it was pointed out in another thread, there is someone on the APTX victims list that has the same kanji used in their family name as "Haneda" however it could be read differently. Also that person on the list has a male first name which could be read as: (Koushi, Kouji, Goushi, Gouji, Hiroshi, Hiroji). Even if that person was a relative of Shuukichi, the person on the list is not the Akai mother.
Also I find it interesting that Yumi having a having an ex-boyfriend was very first mentioned in the story about the little girl who ran away to take care of the three cats but got hit by a car. In that story we also get the very first mention of Eisuke as "a boy who looks similar to Mizunashi Rena" and now that Shuukichi is introduced he also seems to share the same eye qualities as the Hondou family. Shuukichi and Eisuke were both mentioned to exist, even if not by name, in the same story!
On top of all of that, have any of you heard of Inspector Stanley Hopkins of the Sherlock Holmes cannon? He was one of the very few people in the Sherlock Holmes stories written by Doyle that ever tried using Holmes methods. Although most of the time he jumped to conclusions to quickly, he did seem to be on the right track. Holmes himself actually seemed to think that Hopkins had some chance at getting it right eventually and had high hopes. It think it was Watson, or someone else, that later pointed out that both Hopkins and Holmes have the same initials. SH. In Hopkins second appearance the case was solved because they noticed that the victim and the killer had shared a bottle of Rum before the victim's death, meaning that the killer was a sailor.
I find it quite curious that Rum as a BO character was first mentioned immediately before Shuukichi's second actual appearance. Not only that but Shuukichi's given name when written in Romaji also starts with the letter S and that his family name starts with the letter H. If Shinichi/Conan is supposed to be the "Heisei Holmes", maybe Shuukichi is simply his Stanley Hopkins? (or at least a rough equivalent?)

Also meaning Eisuke's brother. Hence simularities.
I think the as Kir has a very important role in the DC story. But is spoken of very little.
I believe Gosho wants to surprise us with this. As Eisuke is meant to come back to the story iirc. And i dont know what role Shuukichi will play in this tho.

Simularities are a bit vague at the moment. But him and Eisuke look a bit alike and have that panniced disposition while being good at stuff and the glasses.
I know the appearance wise hints are not that strong. But just what orhers were discussing about their introduction and names being mentioned at what time in the series.
Also Gosho said Eisuke should be coming back. I wonder how. And i think his appearace in the file 900 shows he may have more to do with the stort than we think. Also his dad (if he is Kir's brother) was undercover in the BO and died. Maybe it was his name on the list? Just ideas
Hmm, maybe Shuukichi is indeed Eisuke's and Hidemi's brother, but if that the case, who is the middle brother? The mystery child or someone else? Also, there was no mention of Eisuke having a brother, though Gosho most likely wants us surprise, if Shuukichi is indeed Hondou's son or perhaps your theory, MeiTanteixX, will turn out to be correct. Can't wait to find out. Actually, I wouldn't mind to see Eisuke, again.

I think Sera's brother is Okiya.
Yes i believe there are two Okiya. One is Akia. The other is Okiya himself.
I think this will be the best solution or atleast i want it to be. As Okiya is a good character himself loved by many and is quite intreaging.
Plus is less predictible like how Gosho has been recently.
First of all, impossible! It would mean that akai is endangering his brother's life if his identity was discovered. Second, what we love is okiya, who is akai in disguise. Okiya's personality we have come to like is originally Akai's, but also partially made up. His brother doesn't necessarily have that made up character akai made, if so, it would endanger his brother even more. Gosho isn't planning on a twist like that, he went as far putting the okiya matter at rest through movie 18.

I think Movie 18 is a red herring. Movies are not cannon.
If there is a real Okiya i think he knows Akai will dress up as him. And i think we have also seen him. But us thinking it is Akai.
For a detectivr series everything has been super straight forward with Rei and Akai and all that. Yet some stuff have happend that Gosho has not fully cleared up. Giving the potential for something great.
But if you want your simple disgues you can have them. But they are letting the show down. Gosho use to do a lot better writing. I think/hope his tricking us recently. Especially tho no Rei vs Akai show down then the 900 disappointment. Be we will see. I trust Gosho.

its starting to sound like the oldest trick in the series... one Conan has been pulling since the beginning... I really doubt that the brother is shrunken though... what other characters do we know that are on a really tough job, but secretly they are just sitting around with a lot of free time? Also it is required that they know Conan in some way and that if he is present that everything will be alright, meaning they have probably seen him in action. In fact it would make it far easier if they had somehow seen Conan pulling off his double cell phone trick using, Shinichi's voice through a second cell phone. That way he would be able to piece together how the trick works properly, but would also potentially mean that he knows that Conan is Shinichi. Also I think this person would have two cell phones to make it work properly, one for his true identity and one for his "middle brother" identity to talk to Masumi.
I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.
I'm still on the Akai=Okiya=Middle brother theory even before. But there are new developments, that while not necessarily proving that there is a second brother in flesh, but details after details of Sera's stories made it like there's really a second brother. When Conan asked Sera whom she's calling with a -nii suffix, she could lie, if she wants Akai hidden, that it's an older person she knows, similar to how Conan call Shinichi with -niisan. Besides that, she could had evaded lying again when she's asked about the middle brother in Red Woman case by not inviting Conan and the 2 girls to the case. But of course, she may intentionally did it to bring Conan and help her or see him solve it.

Yay, Shuukichi and Yumi kissed. The mystery girl looked cute when she smiled to Sera. I guess that Shuukichi is indeed the middle brother considering that both the mystery girl and Okiya/Akai are happy seeing him win the seven crowns or they have some sort of relationship, at least. However, I'm still waiting to see what is Shuukichi's purpose in the plot, besides shogi and Yumi, if he's the middle brother, e.g. his connection with Conan. Does he know Conan's true identity and does he meet Shinichi, before? IMO he may know about Conan being Shinichi.
