This case isn't over yet? But it looks like it's ending in the next one.
Not that Shogi isn't interesting or anything :x

Even with the predictable gosho part, but I trust gosho that he'll once again, like with the vermouth arc, blow our minds again. He said so himself, that stuff; related with the boss for instance, will be mind blowing and something no one will never expect. My guess he is been leading us with hints to answers that are likely false.

@wkd: I'm afraid this post doesn't belong here, but, rather, on the thread "Chekov's Theories About The Plot": this thread is specifically for discussing happenings within these recent files and not things that happened a long, long time ago.
Your post has no relation to the current case either: and you haven't told us why you said that "it's heavily linked to the mystery child": I know there's a popular fan idea that the child is a victim of APTX 4869 but there's no evidence for that. It's a hypothesis. A guess.
Sorry if I sounded harsh, but you should know how things work in these forums. Else the mods will frown upon your behavior.
Point is: you should post that in the "Theories About the Plot" like other fans have done to discuss plot-related stuff.

@Spimer: Done. Sorry my bad, I' sure it's not happening again. I'll post it in Chekov's theories about the plot section as you just stated, but I apparently can't delete it from this section right now, so again my bad and I'm sorry.

I don't know, I just don't think that Shuukichi is the middle brother. I know that intelligence is really difficult to measure in this series, but it just seems off to me. Masumi says that her middle brother is smarter than the oldest brother, clarifying that the oldest brother would be "strong". If Shuuichi is indeed the oldest brother (by way of having ichi in his name) and Shuuichi has matched wits with Conan several times on an almost equal basis. If the middle brother is supposed to be even smarter than that, he definitely hasn't shown it, even with Yumi's life on the line. Currently it looks like almost all of his knowledge is Shogi based.
As it was pointed out in another thread, there is someone on the APTX victims list that has the same kanji used in their family name as "Haneda" however it could be read differently. Also that person on the list has a male first name which could be read as: (Koushi, Kouji, Goushi, Gouji, Hiroshi, Hiroji). Even if that person was a relative of Shuukichi, the person on the list is not the Akai mother.
Also I find it interesting that Yumi having a having an ex-boyfriend was very first mentioned in the story about the little girl who ran away to take care of the three cats but got hit by a car. In that story we also get the very first mention of Eisuke as "a boy who looks similar to Mizunashi Rena" and now that Shuukichi is introduced he also seems to share the same eye qualities as the Hondou family. Shuukichi and Eisuke were both mentioned to exist, even if not by name, in the same story!
On top of all of that, have any of you heard of Inspector Stanley Hopkins of the Sherlock Holmes cannon? He was one of the very few people in the Sherlock Holmes stories written by Doyle that ever tried using Holmes methods. Although most of the time he jumped to conclusions to quickly, he did seem to be on the right track. Holmes himself actually seemed to think that Hopkins had some chance at getting it right eventually and had high hopes. It think it was Watson, or someone else, that later pointed out that both Hopkins and Holmes have the same initials. SH. In Hopkins second appearance the case was solved because they noticed that the victim and the killer had shared a bottle of Rum before the victim's death, meaning that the killer was a sailor.
I find it quite curious that Rum as a BO character was first mentioned immediately before Shuukichi's second actual appearance. Not only that but Shuukichi's given name when written in Romaji also starts with the letter S and that his family name starts with the letter H. If Shinichi/Conan is supposed to be the "Heisei Holmes", maybe Shuukichi is simply his Stanley Hopkins? (or at least a rough equivalent?)

I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.
