Close. I had a choice to make. I chose the other one. The lyrics fit better than the Adam Sandler one, I thought.

Superman = Captain America > Aquaman = Hal Jordan > Wonder Woman > Barry Allen > Thor > Martian Manhunter > The Hulk > Wasp > Hawkeye > [power gap] > Iron Man = Batman > [power gap] > Hank Pym

A coffin in a "real" kidnapping case is just weird but then it could be that the kidnapper is a very strange person. Seriously if you're going to kidnap a kid are you going to hide the body in a mini sized coffin..?
The messy food and the food all over the floor is interesting. I wonder if someone was trying to lure some animal? That wouldn't explain the notebook though.

Hey, I have an idea, let's have a THIS SUCKS / NO THIS SUCKS / NO YOU / NO YOU argument for a couple pages, that will really be great. - Ingmar

I'll bet tone deaf Conan is in the coffin. Soon he will pop out and confront pitch perfect Conan.

WUT? is it that common to have perfect pitch? (though I might be interpreting wrongly because you used the word "everyone")pofa wrote: and everyone I know that has perfect pitch
Gosho probably never bothered to research on the subject. We have to remember though that if Conan didn't have a good hearing, he wouldn't have been able to realize that the BO boss's number sounded like that children song.pofa wrote: But I've decided it's funny enough to not care about too much.![]()
He just shouldn't have made Conan tone deaf and instead, make him perfect in music just like he's perfect in everything else.

I'm a grad student in music, so I've met and sung with a lot of people who have perfect pitch. It's probably not as common in non-musical settings.Kor wrote:WUT? is it that common to have perfect pitch? I'd say it's most common in musical settings. I only know two people with perfect pitch and they're both musicians. Of course, I guess it's most likely that people with perfect pitch will be drawn to music.pofa wrote:I'm a grad student in music, so I've met and sung with a lot of people who have perfect pitch. Damn...now there is someone who knows even more than I do. I can't show off my knowledge anymore and feel special
(I'm kidding btw
My school isn't really orginized, but it has relations with Berklee College in Boston, so there is a program that I learn two years in my school in Israel, and then move to Boston for another two years. Luckily for me, they don't have many flute players in Berklee so my chances for a good scholarship is good.
Anyway, I don't have perfect pitch, but my hearing is considered one of the best in my class (There are three levels and I entered automatically to the second level because my hearing is much better than the other first years).
The third level is the toughest, since it has no connection to a specific harmony and ket, and is (dare I say) closer to Schoenberg's system.
Well yeah, but I never met someone who really had perfect pitch (not in my current school, and not in my high school where I was in the music section). The closest thing to a perfect pitch I encountered was either my hearing, or someone who at the start was thought to have a perfect pitch, but then I discovered that person had a good musical memory so he could memorize the correct pitch.mangaluva wrote: I'd say it's most common in musical settings. I had a discussion about it with one of my teachers actually. We talked about how perfect pitch can actually help you in music and if it makes you of a better musician. I said that if there was someone with perfect pitch in the ensemble, it wouldn't be hard to tune all the instruments correctly, but besides that, I had nothing. I'm a preformer, so perfect pitch wouldn't help me so much, and I already get high grades in every course.
Vocalists and piano tuner will probably benfit the best from perfect pitch, I guess.

It's all good. I'm a voice major turned musicologist, not an instrumentalist. If we tag-team we'll know more than ANYONE!! (maniacal laughter)Kor wrote:

They tell me it's a curse, since you're so aware of the not-quite-in-tune pitches everywhere around you. Like having an itch you can't scratch.Kor wrote:

Re: Air on the G String kidnapping case: (Files 728-730?): Vote for something!
Preliminary stuff: Haven't thought it through carefully. I'll get around to it later.
Someone/something is in the house with them. It's likely a kid due to the behavior being inconsistent with an adult, the piano stool being set for a child's height, etc. Specifically, the child is probably the girl from the picture playing the piano. This seems to contradict with the diary entry saying "Boy, sorry… Forgive me…". The boy seems to be gender specific in this case given the word lookup. There is also an inconsistency with the girl's behavior and the state of the food. The girl seems neat. She undid the staples rather than tear the page, washed the dishes, and properly separated the garbage; however she left a mess of food. Coupled with the diary entry, it implies there may be a boy to go with the girl. Is the boy a human, or could it be a pet?
The photograph's date is conveniently from one year ago. A child couldn't have stayed here the whole time, so someone must have dropped this person off, probably an adult. Per Conan's deduction about the wine and the rain, the writing in the diary may be one year old exactly as Abs. suggested earlier.
The wine spill is dry, so that must have been done a while ago. I haven't fully thought through the meaning of the diary being wet twice. I'll get to it tomorrow or the day after sometime.
Also, one stapled page of the diary was removed, presumably by the child taking the map out of the book for reference. By taking out the staples instead of tearing just the one page with map out of the diary, the girl removed two pages . That would probably explain the contradiction Conan noticed with the date/ days to go. Since the diary seems to be read in western order, (Date on left facing page - that day's description on the right), the missing page will have day 20's entry and day 21 on its opposite side. The entry that is currently paired with day 20 is actually supposed to go with day 21.
Thus the diary so far is supposed to read like this...
#1. March 20th, Sunny
#2. March 20's entry (page missing)
#3. March 21st, (page missing)
#4. After I tried talking with him, he seems like a good kid… He smiles often and plays a lot… Now, I don’t know whether or not he understands the situation he’s in, being left alone but… The kid is also properly secured and will probably pass the days away… Anyway, there’s just two days left… Just have to hold on until then…
#5. March 22nd, Cloudy…
#6. Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven… Melodies that make the heart quiver… I envy those talents born of the same era… They’re not songs appropriate to play in this situation, but… I can forget the time… One more day, please let it pass without incident…(I'm ignoring the magical changing entry detail Abs. pointed out for now...)
#7. March 23rd, Rainy…
#8. Not good… It seems this kid somehow knows who I am… If this is revealed, it would be a hindrance in the future… It’s sad, but it looks like there’s no choice but to kill…
#9. March 24th, Rainy…
#10. Boy, sorry… Forgive me…
When Ayumi mentioned that she saw everyone leave in a panic looking for her, she didn't say she was here because she misinterpreted the others' actions and thought they were looking for the kid. My guess is the child in this case is doing the same and has misinterpreted the detective boy's actions which is why she hasn't said anything and is hiding from them. Maybe she thinks they are thieves? It might be she is frightened by what was written in the missing diary entry and that has lead to the misunderstanding?
The hot water on the ground and the missing bags with the bamboo shoots in them may imply the girl intends to boil the shoots the DB collected.

I believe I have solved the overall mystery, but I have to go now, so I'll edit this post later.
