Looks like all I got so far was the birthday part, well that's what the suspects say at least.
so now we seem to have some sort of time frame.
12:05 Hotel manager goes back to the pool and sees her and is told he is in the way and to get out
12:?? Samaki goes into the pool area and doesn't see her and waits around thinking she may be in bathroom
12:54 Hamaka is called to look, passes Samaki who is leaving, thinks her watch has the wrong time, asks the staff for time
01:00 A reservation to eat lunch at the hotel
Death occurred sometime between 12 noon and 1pm.
1:50-ish they return and ask if the staff was sure she hadn't left the pool
2:00 body discovered in pool with shards of a glass tank and 50 meters of fishing line
Something is really bothering me about the things that the Fiance Samaki has said. First, he is the one who says that the necklace probably fell off in the pool, which got the victim in the water. Second, he is the one who brought the scuba gear saying that he knew she would want it. As if he knew he was going to create the situation where he knew she would need it. Third, his reason for coming back to find her was to tell her to let someone else look for it. This seems to contradict the personality of someone who loves a hotel room so much that she would literally kick people out of the room to have it her way. Fourth, by saying that he waited around in the pool area because she might have been in the restroom, that gives him a reason to have been in there for a while with out anyone else entering. Fifth, supposedly he called Hamaka and asked her to search the restrooms and locker rooms and passed her on his way out.
However the Hotel manager still strikes me as odd. Why would he need to go talk to the victim so soon after they were all thrown out of the pool area? Did he want to tell her that she was mistaken about her Fiance and half-sister meeting in the hotel and possibly spoil the surprise party to at least ease her mind? Or maybe he had questions about the Oisou Finance Group that owns the hotel? He is the only person and last person to report seeing the victim alive after the three of them left the room. If he is the killer, why would he do this? Wouldn't it be better to just say she was already missing at this point and make people think that the killer somehow entered the room without being seen. If he did kill her and then said he saw her alive, then hid the body, the next person to enter would definitely say that they didn't see her and suspicion would be cast on him for being the last person claiming to see her. BUT WHY DID HE GO THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE???
Knowing my luck, the killer would be the Half-sister Hakama. The only problem I see is how she could set up the trick. She would have to have set it up while they were all in the pool together, then sprung the trap exactly between the Hotel manager leaving the pool area and Samaki entering the pool area. Then she would somehow need Samaki to call her back to the scene, then enter the pool area and reveal the body so it could be found 10 minutes later. Its just weird though. How would she set up the trap and not be seen? How would she set it to spring when no one was there (between the hotel manager leaving and before Samaki arrive) to make sure no one saw the trap in action and would try to save her? It just seem to make her innocent to me....
........................
The biggest question I have is... with all four of them in the pool at the beginning of the search, wouldn't it only take like a combined 10 minutes or so to search the whole bottom of the pool, especially if the water was shallow enough to stand up in? The manager went back in rather quickly as he probably though it would be found rather quickly and wanted to talk to her about something alone before she left. His reason for being in there for more than a few minutes is that she didn't notice him at first but then noticed him and told him to leave. Whatever his reason for going back in to the pool area, this could have easily been motive to kill her and then set up the trick to hide the body. Then if anyone came to look for her, they wouldn't find her. That then begs the question of why Samaki would think that it would take much longer for her to find the necklace and return to the pool later than the Hotel manager. When he was back in the pool area, he was in there for a while and claimed that he waited around because he counldn't find her and thought she might have been in the bathroom. This gives him at least reasonable amount of time to kill her and set up a trick to hide the body as well. Motive could be something from their high school days, the inheritance, or even the death of the half-sister's mother somehow.
two weeks until next file >_<....
