Finally maybe I was right,Akai may have a tatoo or a scar,and Haibara saw it...
So for Haibara this is the ultimate proof that Okiya=Dai ^^
And Okiya was so cold when he hold Ai's hand...I guess Haibara won't be that comfortable with him in the future...

Yeah, it was kind of an adult situation, wasn't it? Not to mention his remark about "his territory". Kind of reminded me of situations where a woman goes "Hey, I'm up here!" Maybe Ai fancies him!!!11 /crack-theory

I agree with most people here that she was probably either looking for some scar/tattoo/birthmark/pendant etc. This means that she has certain theories about who he might actually be. Has Ai ever voiced any specific suspicious about Okiya, which have slipped my mind? I kind of wish we could also get Okiya's perspective on this incident, but I guess this will have to wait for a while. Of course it's not the case, but it would be hilariously awkward if he actually was just some random student.

I wonder what Haibara wanted to check on Okiya. Maybe it was some sort of scar

or she might just wanted to pull his mask off? Haha or pull his scarf off to see if he has an Adam's apple. If "he" doesn't, then Okiya is Vermouth.

Okiya can't be Vermouth, they appeared at the same place at the same time at the end of file 800(or 801), so unless either Okiya or Vermouth was a fake at that time they can't be the same person.

Haibara was able to identify Vermouth's specific presence during the bus jacking case, and it seems like her fear of Okiya is a more "general BO presence" fear, since she hasn't speculated that he's any specific BO member.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but this "Children of the Wind" stuff automaticly triggered "Nanatu no Ko" in my head.

Maybe something for Chek to check. (It could just be plain paranoia, but he all know Gosho's love for hidden message subtext.)

I haven't looked at the spoilers, but decided to finally visit this thread because I gave a tentative deduction at DCW that no one will care about anyway and wanted to see if anyone had any non-spoilery ideas about the solution.

I have no idea what you are talking about (it's probably spoilers). Because it involves me it must be something about the plot and the BO, further evidenced by your mention of Nanatsu no ko. I further deduce someone said something mysterious, the title of the chapter is weird, or the sidebars are strange because if whatever it is made sense no one would have bothered asking. I will randomly spend time guessing because I am trying to slack off on my work...

If this is a well built relationship I wouldn't find it weird...
I don't think Jodie fits him but that my opinion...I don't care that much about pairing,I just think ShihoxAkai has some potential.

why it would be weird ? is it because of age difference ? it's not a problem
many girls have their boyfriends aged +10 or +7 than them (as i said , minerva & ares .... etc)
akai loves shiho because she is akemi sister
shiho also shows an intersting in okiya as she realized him dai moroboshi

akai has made a promise to akemi that he will save shiho 4ever that's sure
when he will be able to do that ? it's easy , he will be able to do that when he marry shiho & share their life

The 'weird' thing everyone's talking about is that Akai went out with Akemi, Shiho's sister and is partly responsible for her death. I doubt she'd suddenly want to go out with and marry the guy who did that, especially after we've been shown how much Akemi's death affected Haibara, she'd likely be angry with him for him at the very least imo, he'd have trouble gaining her forgiveness, nevermind what you two are suggesting...

ok , shiho in the 802 file knew that okiya is dai moroboshi, and it seems that she is fine with him up to now
if you remember, ares also caused the death of minerva's father, but it was clear that she never hate her boyfriend Ares despite that
akemi would be happy if her sister  shiho & akai will be together & for each other
haibara will not be single 4ever, akai is the best one for her to avoid that ^^
