This was a fun chapter.

I wonder why Sera's not setting off Conan's alarms more than she is. XD Every other sentence is something about Conan and/or Shinichi.

I love how easy it is to make Heiji enter these deduction competitions, even though he was deeply impressed by Shinichi telling him deductions aren't a competition. <3

I guess the death must have to do with confusing Abe-chan and ame-chan (the obvious is obvious), but I haven't guessed anything beyond that. Maybe it's easy to hear it wrong when it's spoken in a Kansai accent?

Huh, nice poll! I voted for East, cause Heiji was superirrating in this file - his arrogant bahaviour, talking about Sera's breasts (it was rude as hell, I would have hit him, if he said something like that to me! ) and that he was so happy at the end of the case. Doesn't he know that there was a MURDER?! He's thinking only about winning competition, like a child.

Anyway, I doubt that Conan will win, cause Gosho probably will make a tie as usual.
About the case - I'm 100% sure that Heiji is step ahead in this case just because of this "abe-chan/ame-chan" thing. Looks like people in Tokyo don't talk like that, so Conan wouldn't treat this as a clue. Camel probably misunderstood the man, who was talking about "candy-chan poison", not "Abe-chan - a person who was poisoned". Btw, did you noticed tha there was a slat in the pan next to the dead man's stall? Could it be that murderer killed that man and then he/she stayed in this stall, waiting till Camel went out of the room?
Btw, I wonder about three things more:
1) Why Heiji came to Tokyo anyway? Just because he got jealous about Sera? XD
2) When Ran will say Kazuha about the confession?
3) Will Shinichi solve the case by the phone again?

My apologies in advance to Hattori's fans, this time I found him rather annoying. I'm pretty sure he just figured out some way to narrow down the suspects and noticed some details which could prove that the case was characterized as a homicide not suicide, i.e, he (somehow) won Kudo a step <--- Is the competition that important? (It is, since teenagers often have big egos, eh? but not THAT vital). Him grinning over Kudo like that while the culprit was nowhere to be seen is not a pleasant scene to me at all.

You've never watched any other series with a flat chested girl, have you?  It's generally one of the leading causes of tsundere nowadays.

Yeah, seriously!  I heard that if you're super serious about solving it, the dead person comes back to life!  How dare he not give this guy a second chance at life!

Also, why's everyone being so hard on Heiji before we even see the case really start?  He asked Conan how he was doing, Conan said he didn't know, Heiji bragged that he had a one-up on him, and then started explaining that the culprit was still there, chapter ends.  He'll explain to Conan in the next chapter what he realized.

I was surprised to see Heiji agree to Sera for deduction battle. That was cheating!!! Conan don't stand a chance to defend himself if deduction battle cost his secrecy to be spilled. Did Heiji turn bonkers or something?

And, did anyone think of deleted scene or story behind DC story? Shinichi's parents did make appearance in London arc case, I know they are capable to solve but when they saw their son try hard to catch and his stress, I'm getting the idea they now understood the magnitude of difficult case Shinichi is facing with. I believe, they likely to pull strings behind Shinichi's back again. So I'm not surprised if they are indirectly mentioned in future, parents will not sit behind any more and let their son do it alone; they turn parental. Shinichi's parents may make appearance again and somehow related to latest manga, I have no doubt.

I think he didn't think it through before answering. He forgot Shinichi is a child, keep seeing him as Kudo that Shinichi emphasize he's not weak but in the end he's a child and in danger. How could Heiji not know Sera is investigating Shinichi?

I have made an analysis with my friend, we feel this will lead to somewhere. For starter, we notice Heiji realize his true self as it is his detective's instinct. It's possible we may not expect element of surprise soon, an accurate prediction which may lead to Heiji's story. we don't know will he win, but this information of pyschoanalysis are suffice enough to tell what's going on soon. Who will win? I have no idea, I have to observe characters before jump to conclusion. It's going to be difficult to decide, if Heiji somehow remember and realize 'trap' he fall in, it will be chaos, and story likely to rotate around Heiji while investigation is still on.

As usual things which happen out of the case are more interesting than the case itself. Poison + restaurant = pffffff. Where are those bloody, mysterious murder I used to read? And why Conan is always so damn recless when Sera is nearby? She knows something, even I can see it and she's hinting so strongly.

But nooo, competition with Hattori is more important.

And I think this case isn't for Sera to figure out Conan=Shinichi. IMO she already knows. But instead, more like showing Conan that she knows. Maybe even pulling something like Heiji and say: "If you don't admit it, I'll tell Ran-neechan "
