Oh man I thought it was death by mannequin (i.e. it was supposed to be a doll being 'operated' on, but the murderer made Anna unconscious and strapped her to the operating table), it was the first time I was so disappointed when Conan notices a smell of almonds. should have known better I guess since the later cases' deaths are much less gory than the earlier cases. :/

anyway i vote for the round glasses girl because I can feel that there is a murderous grudge there.

Even better if Conan were about to "solve" the case and then Kogoro appears, hits Conan on the head, and assesses the non-death of the corpse.
Oh well, a raccoon can only dream...

Here's my theory: Anna murdered herself. The catch? The murdered girl isn't Anna, it's the girl she was helping put on her makeup. Note that they have almost identical makeup, and Anna could have easily put on the other girl's glasses. Most likely, Anna discovered that this other girl played a part in their deceased friend's death, and killed her.

Neither, imo. Unless Conan has his bowtie in his pocket, he'll have to solve the case without it, probably raising suspicion from Kogoro, Ran, and Sonoko, because he's not wearing a bowtie at all! He's wearing a normal tie instead. Ironically, he does seem to have his power sneakers, but not his wristwatch (note: page 12, panel 4 shows both of his wrists and his feet, although it's zoomed out and hard to tell if you don't zoom in).

Anywho, I'm glad the case is a murder. I was getting bored. Nothing a good old murder can't solve. Those tend to be the most interesting cases. Though I think I got this one figured out....

They get a kick out of using K(CN)....Somehow I feel I've heard of it in another case, but I can't think of it.

That would be comepletely interesting and it would make this case a good one.
