I honestly don't remember this episode at all.
I need to rewatch it.
You still haven't done that? Shame on you...
Can you clarify on what you mean by the BO's symbolism?
Also, the gold shows wealth. I assume the BO boss would be rich.
The crow (or the raven which is, after all, the same animal) is frequently used as symbol for the BO along with the colour black, the colour of the crow's plumage. Crows have been shown in cases connected with the BO. And then there's movie 13 - the Raven chaser. But I'm sure Chekhov will be able to go into detail.

Nanatsu no ko and the black dress code to resemble crows are the main part of it.

Vermouth said the boss is extremely cautious. Would someone like that call attention to himself by building a giant gold plated mansion and sticking crows on everything he owns? I would hope the boss is more subtle.

I looked up episode 219, but the title was:Gathered Great Detectives! Shinichi Kudo vs. Phantom Thief Kid. I assumed it was about Conan chasing after Kid. Didn't think it was about the mountain villa case with Renya. Also, is this in the manga?
Spoiler:
Kaitou Kid stands on top of a building with his butler. He discusses the time he was almost caught by a famous Detective in the East, Shinichi Kudo. He plans to "steal" the clock tower. Although, he leaves it standing with a code upon its hands, saying "I will not give this clock to anyone". After the reminisce, Kaitou Kid plans to steal the priceless gem of the Suzuki Corporations : the Black Star. Afterwards Moore has been invited to a detective meeting by an unknown assailant who sends him money. There are Six detectives there excluding Conan. They are in a house where a massacre happened years ago. One of the detectives are killed and they are stranded in the mansion as the bridge has been cut and the cars have been burned. It also appears that the unknown assailant is using the name Phantom Thief Kid. After solving the case, Mouri was revealed to be Kid in disguise and escapes before Conan could capture him.
Also, I might be wrong, but didn't Gosho say that Haibara will be surprised as to who the BO boss is? I don't see Renya connected to Ai-chan.

Hiding in plain sight?
The boss might very well be a public figure. Renya Karasuma might have been the predecessor of the current boss (Elena Miyano) whom they're trying to revive for some reason.

Oh, I knew about the black dress code. Seeing as how every one of them wears black. Chianti wears purple sometimes, right?
Also, that is true. But maybe he thinks that nobody will ever think he's the BO boss. Even though his mansion is infested with crow statues.
Also, I liked someone's theory about it being related to Mouri. Because of "James Moriarty" But James is an American/British name. Mouri is 100% Japanese. I don't see him having any relatives that are half American/British.

Who said Elena Miyano was the current boss? Before she died.

I say she is. If the Gosho quote that Ai will be surprised is legit, she's the obvious choice. Being dead officially doesn't mean she's really dead.
Also sticking crows on everything on his mansion wouldn't really make him suspicious. It's like it's a well known fact that the crow is a symbol for the BO, hardly anyone knows about the BO.

It might mean that Eri is the BO boss. He might mean that the BO boss is someone Haibara didn't know was even connected to the BO.
Also, I agree. The best way to hide something, is in plain sight.

Haibara already said the drug isn't for reviving dead people in 38-2, the dolls case - if you believe her that is.

But it doesn't make sense because there could be an info leak like what happened with Akemi that tips off someone outside about the crow symbolism. Hiding things in plain site is really a silly idea because you expose more people to your secret, and the more people who are exposed, the higher chance of them making the connection. It's best to be completely obscure.
Chianti wears black, that was just the anime being colorful.

I completely forgot about that. Hm. I don't think how the APTX could've been something that noone would be interested in. What was it she was after?
She doesn't she reviving the dead isn't something the BO is interested in, just that was not the objective of her research. Might be another reason the BO no longer needed her.

The crow symbolism in the BO is extremely subtle. There's the colour of their suits and then there's the mail address. However, Renya Karasuma is said to have died 50 years ago. So the mail address was introduced after his death, as an hommage to him I reckon.

Is episode 219 an AO or part of the manga?
It looks like an AO to me, and if it is, then it really has nothing to do with BO.
Therefore Renya = nothing important.
