Good point xD
Also, I don't know how the school system works in Japan, but if it's already October 10, shouldn't Ran be an old woman a third-year by now?
I still wait for Gosho to tell us that the series was going in a none chronological order so everything will make more snese regarding his cases...of course that then the cases won't have some other sense but still...

edit: reading my post again...it doesn't make much sense as well...hmm  :-\

About the couples, I don't think Shuu x Jodie is a good couple ('cause I love our Akemi :(( ), but Jodie x Camel is great, right? (if his words about "my wife was calling" are a lie >"< )

I hope this will be the last case of Eri x Mouri...

And I think this case is a 41 vols anniversary :)) In vol 27, we got Usui being murdered in the same room Kogorou was sleeping (on Kogorou and Eri's wedding anniversary), and this case we get Kubuko being murdered inside Eri's room (on Eri's birthday). And last time they were about to come back to each other...

I bet this is all an elaborate ruse by Ran, Kogorou, and Eri to uncover Conan's identity... disguised as a "get Kogorou and Eri back together" plot.

Yup.

In Japan, school years end in March and begin in April.

which means that...in 500 more episodes they will have spring break and finish eleventh grade! even though they already had 10 spring breaks, they will finally have the "real" one

Pretty sure spring break is in the spring, not between October and March.    :P

But seriously, why are people looking at the fact that this case has a date as being a time-line indicator?  We've already had Valentine's Day, a specific date in March or April (forget which day, but it's one of the police love stories), and the prelude to Red Wall was in February.

I remembered something with date in the red wall case...though I thought it was september.
Ok, I'm going back to my original theory! DC isn't going in chronological order  8)

It's ok.  Time runs differently in Japan.  Did you know?  That's how they get so smart.  We assume that their school year is an actual year, but in actuality, it's 10 years.  So your high school graduate?  Well over a hundred years old.   ;D

Yeah, if you've ever been to Japan, then you would know that time doesn't run linearly or at the same speed as everywhere else (but don't be confused everyone behaves as if it did).

Re: File 709

I was slightly disappointed after reading the translation  :(
Until now the case is just like any other Eri-Kogoro case. Kogoro did something which makes Ran think that he is going to do something for Eri and then they'll get back together. Then Ran makes Eri think the same and encourages her. But at the end Kogoro says what he was doing which is exactly the opposite from what Ran thought and then Eri is pissed and that was partly because Ran raised Eri's hopes up.
The bigger problem this time, is that Conan is the one who raises up Ran's hopes, not only that but he also believes himself that Kogoro was buying a present to Eri. Though I doubt Kogoro would forget Eri's birthday, I really don't want the end of the case to be like any other Eri case that Eri becomes angry, Kogoro laughs like an idiot and then mocks Eri for thinking the necklace was for her.
Even though I feel sorry for Ran that she her parents are like that, it's partly her fault that every time they end up fighting again and that's because she tries to bring them back together without considering their true feelings. She has a complex that she doesn't want her parents to divorce (though to me seperated for a long time equals divorced). When my parents divorced I didn't do ANYTHING to try and bring them back together, maybe because they were fighting all the time and it was better for everyone for them to seperate. If it's truly better for Eri and Kogoro to not be together then it should be that way and Ran needs to accept that.

Maybe the whole Eri-Kogoro doesn't need to have a happy (disney) ending. Maybe it meant for Ran that she needs to accept that her parents won't be together...

(But I secretly hope that at the end of the case Kogoro will come to Eri and give her the necklace and they will finally make up with each other...Ran is one of the only two characters who I can feel sorry for...the second one is Haibara of course...)

Ohh!! So that explains Endless Eight *nod* *nod*

Is it just me or Eri's assistant seemed different? ??? Meh, I didn't look at her that much though... Anyone else thinking that the can of beer(or whatever that was) was used as a weapon to fend off the attacker?

Drunk woman: Take this... *shake* *shake* Beer canon!!!
Dark silhouette: Oh noes! Beer Canon!!!  :o

Someone should take this opportunity to list every single reference to time in the entire (canonical/manga) series. :-X
