One reason someone might want immortality is because they are afraid of dying. Also, someone in power may simply wish to remain in power because they like what they have. And good guys don't have a monopoly on wanting to revive dead people.

I only said that raising the dead for good people thing because of dragon ball z. I didn't really mean that.

But I don't really understand this. When the characters from DBZ are doing it, it's perfectly fine, but when Pegasus is trying to raise back his dead wife, it's pure evil? If I think about it, then the message that DB gives is very wrong. If someone close to the main characters die, they go and search for the dragon ball in order to bring him back. That's not very moral thing to do. It just shows that the so called heros can't let go of anyone and they have to bring him back to life.

IMO, I don't think that Detective Conan is that sort of fictional anime...... I mean they wouldnt think about immortality and raising dead in such a realistic (other than the shrinking part xD) series. Especially when the most of the anime's murders have the most complex tricks that none of us would imagine (especially the ones that include fishing line  ).... and also, i think that Shiho was already involved in the experiment since her parents started it so she didnt CHOOSE to join, more like she was forced to join.

That's what I think too. I oppose to the whole idea because then it's just like any other fantasy genre anime in which the villain tries to gain immortality in order to live forever or the villain brings back to life an ancient city with zombies and he uses them in order to destroy the world. I don't hate these kind of things (given the anime is good) but I don't want such things to be in Conan because it will ruin the whole realistic feeling about it.

Maybe we don't suppose to understand the motive behind the drug, like we never got to understand Naraku's true intentions (One of the most dissapointing villains of all times...)
Some seek to destroy the world, some seek to control. But the point behind an evil organization that no one knows about and odd programs and odd drugs...if you combine all of these things what do you get? A plot that wasn't thought throughly something we don't suppose to know yet and hopefully everything will become clear.

With all of what Gosho left and never resolved for us, I actually doubt he will remember to reveal everything...

Lol so true, Kor....Gosho just loves to keep his fans in the dark for so long, then he reveals something about the main storyline which makes us think the end is near, when that event is actually lengthening the whole thing.......

the motive for the drug was to kill without leaving a trace cuz u know, when someone is poisoned there r traces in their blood and stuff, but the goal for the drug was to kill and not leave traces in blood....but fortunately (or unfortunately name it as u like  ) the drug has a rare side effect as im sure everybody here knows.
