Gin and Vodka, having found out that there are bombs on one of the floors:
Vodka: "Seeing as there's noone like Akai coming out of the store, he's probably on that floor then..."
Even if the bomber is caught or the bomb explodes there'll be quite a crush at the exit - Vodka asks
whether it would be possible to get rid of this Akai-lookalike. Gin replies that whatever happens the
situation is fine. "The trace of a sniper would be erased by the panic, and this Akai won't be able
to move. He'll be easy prey for Kir, who's waiting up above, or Korn. He's keeping watch at the
underground exit."

Then Kir asks Gin: "Does Bourbon know about this?" "I heard that he's on the hunt for that
treacherous scientist Sherry."
Gin: "Like Vermouth, he's secretive. He's got all sorts of tricks up his sleeves. Noone really knows
where he is or what he's doing."
Vodka: "You know, now I think about it, Bourbon didn't like Akai either did he? Actually he probably
hated him more than you did, Gin."
Gin: "Well, even if I did know where Bourbon was, I wasn't going to tell him that Akai was dead, but he
found out. He didn't believe a bit of it. I'm not surprised. He was determined that he would be the one
who finally killed him."
"The question is whether Bourbon's seen this Akai-lookalike..." Gin smirks.
"I wouldn't want to see Bourbon's face if he does."

From a café in the department store Okiya looked down on Gin’s car, parked in front. He glanced up.
He could see Chianti in a hotel room opposite. A faint smile alighted on his face. A café assistant approached him.
Okiya said: “Don’t worry, I’ll be going now. I just wanted to see what’s happening outside. I don’t think I could
eat when there’s a bomb on this floor... although, I wouldn’t mind sharing some hot, bitter coffee with a certain
group of people who are sweating it out in this heat, silently waiting for their prey to make a move.â€

The spoilers for 703 solve the problem of why would Bourbon dress as Akai and not tell Gin about it. Bourbon's operating style is almost exactly as I guessed before: Bourbon is a lone-wolf secretive agent rather like Vermouth and hasn't kept Gin and friends in the loop about his private investigation. This news pretty much seals the Scar Akai = Bourbon and not Vermouth deal for me. Assuming Bourbon is not going to get himself shot by his comrades (oops), that means that Bourbon revealing himself at the end of the case is pretty likely! The other possibility is he slips out without being caught by Gin causing the B.O. to hunt down their own agent... Gin is going to be unhappy when he finds out it has been a wild goose chase...
The fact that Bourbon loathes Akai is interesting. I wonder if it had anything to do with Akai's time in the org as Rye? Since he is a new agent maybe it is a "I rose through the org ranks and got a code name so I could hunt you down and kill you" type of story. (Or Bourbon was dating Akemi who totally dumped him for Akai ) It probably also means that Bourbon doesn't like Kir much either.
The final question is what will Bourbon think of Kogoro Mouri and Conan? Conan darted Kogoro and used the voice changer in front of Bourbon... then someone mailed Kogoro the rest of the information. (Most likely the mailer is Okiya since we saw him fiddling around with case related info on his cell phone earlier) Furthermore Kogoro acted like a total idiot up until Conan nailed him. I wonder if Bourbon is suspicious yet? If Bourbon is a "deduction freak", there is a good chance he knew about Kudo Shinichi.

Is anyone else surprised Kogoro woke up? Maybe Kogoro is gaining tranquilizer resistance? It would be in favor of a plot twist where the tranquilizer loses it's effectiveness on Kogoro for a while (> 1 case) until Haibara and Agasa can come up with a new formula.

Looks like 704 is going to be the critical chapter. Darn Gosho and his two one week breaks...

Is anyone else surprised Kogoro woke up? Maybe Kogoro is gaining tranquilizer resistance? It would be in favor of a plot twist where the tranquilizer loses it's effectiveness on Kogoro for a while (> 1 case) until Haibara and Agasa can come up with a new formula.

Yeah, with the information out of the spoiler it really seems a bit suspicious - how could he wake up?

It wouldn't be the first time that the dart's effectiveness wasn't normal.  There was the case where the child star was trying to find his mom (the one with the mole on her back, I believe).  If I recall, Conan shot him with the dart and it took longer than normal to knock him out.

Yeah... Kogoro waking up... is quite troublesome.... not to mention he continued Conan's deduction... HE'll probably figure out Conan is behind this... (Possible drug resistance... they need a solution for this!)

Yeah... it's like 90% that Scar Akai is Bourbon... Hating Akai probably because Akai is and FBI agent...

He is a "deduction freak" the possibility of him seeing Conan darting Kogoro, makes a connection, figure out Conan being the main cause for Kogoro streak of correct deduction, then makes another connection as it being "around the time famous Shinichi disappear"... We're Doomed!!!! XDDDD

Maybe after the break it'll be a Long action Pack Arc! XDDD

Actually I think we only got the confirmation that Bourbon really does exist, not that he is scar Akai. We also got a confirmation on a gender but still not an age. At this point Bourbon can be Yuminaga who got texted by Vermouth who is dressed up as Akai, it is only an assumption and a possibility as we don't know if Bourbon can disguise himself. He is just as much intelligent as Kudo Shinichi. If I were to write it I would stun everyone by revealing him to be Hakuba Suguru or someone else who was in love with Shiho. Heck, it can be a Chris Vinyard, we shall see

I never said it was confirmed that Scar akai was Bourbon, only that I was convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that it's the case. I'm pretty sure we don't have a gender confirmation yet. Japanese pronouns are often gender neutral which doesn't translate well to English.

Aw,  thank you for the spoilers, the suspense is killing me.

From the spoilers for 703, for me it mostly obvious that Okiya is Akai, and whether the scar Akai is Bourbon or not, we can’t confirm yet.

But one thing for sure, Conan and Co. are in danger now. Seriously, Conan is getting careless recently, reading the spoilers remind me about a comment Haibara made in the Clean Scent case (V33-8, page 11), that Shinichi’s hero act is strangling people around him with dangerous.

I have a question, they identify the Sender and the Receiver of the Red Shirt case, but who is the Bomber? If none of them is, I can't imagine how dangerous it is for Conan now.

Why didn’t Conan think about sending Kogoro a msg like someone else (probably Okiya)? Does Conan know Okiya also being here in the same dept. store? Do they tell us that the Receiver of the red shirt is also the Bomber? If not, can we assume that Bourbon, after checking on Kogoro and Conan, set up the bomb trap and forced Conan carelessly tranquilizes Kogoro in front of him, hence confirms his suspicion. Conan might get ignorant to find the fastest way to escape the bomb (without knowing Okiya also being here, a mis-communication though).
