Spoiler:
Sonoko says she wants to start a girls' band, inspired by a movie she saw last night on the TV.
Since she says it ressembles her, Sonoko's in charge of the drums and Ran's put in charge of the bass.
Conan: "Ran - neechan's skilled at playing the piano, no?"
And so Masumi takes up the bass and Ran is placed in charge of the keyboard.
Sonoko yells that they take part in the city's entertainment contest and win it but... who'll be in charge of the guitar?
To try to solve that, they invite Azusa to take part because of her name tie.
Azusa argues back that she's got no experience in that and she's not a "girl" anymore.
Then a male customer who happened to be there and was a bandman suddenly exclaims:
"If ya put on a uniform and train to play the guitar then it'll be a piece of a cake!"
"I'll lend ya a guitar: piece of a cake, no? Try it out!"... Sonoko, who was fueled, is about to cry, even. (I think she finds the idea horrible.)
Amuro suddenly picks the guitar and lightly plays a song: the male customer shuts up. (Surprised at Amuro's level of skill, that is.)
Amuro then refuses the invitation from the girls saying that he doesn't want to stand out any more but
he says he will stick along to see their reharsals: and so the group head to a rental studio.
Masumi: "Hey, ya... Haven't you and I met... somewhere before?"
Amuro: "I think that... today's the first time we've met yet..."
The rental studio's full so the group wait for a room to be freed in the waiting area: about an hour passes.
Turns out that Sonoko's only experience with drums is a game named "Drum Master".
Masumi can at least play the Do-Re-Mi as she was taught by a friend of her brother yet
she doesn't remember having said that it was a man... Amuro...? (Maybe she's asking Amuro why he said that the friend was a man?)
Another girl band who was there is taking a break.
It is an all somewhere incronigous, and Someka (one of the members) lets out her annoyance in the other 3 members.
Hagie, another member, says she wants to have a light nap and so goes back to the studio.
They're about to have a memorial live in memory of a dead member, and Somehana is impertinent in that they must make it be a successs no matter what.
Yuiko (yet another member) keeps Someka's jacket because she wants to fix one of Someka's clothes' buttons yet
Someka has to re-do her guitar's strings so she stands her ground that she (Yuiko) must wake up Hagie.
Rumi (the 4th member) looks like she wants to rework a part of the song so she can't go wake up Hagie.
(In short: the member girls are named Someka, Hagie, Yuiko and Rumi. And there was a 5th member who's already dead).
Sonoko & co., in the meanwhile, want to use a Okino Yoko CD song as cover song yet they don't know who'll do the vocals.
Sonoko herself argues that she can't do the drums and the vocals at the same time and Masumi passes as well.
"Should we rather ring up Shinichi?", one (or both, not specified) of them suggest. But then Ran remembers that Shinichi's tone deaf.
A scream rings out from somewhere in the studio all of a sudden.
Conan, Amuro and Masumi rush over there but find Hagie dead with strangulation marks.
They check the security camera footage but about half of the screen is blocked by a phone with a selfie stick attached to it.
In these conditions they can't tell who did what.
A murder making use of a blind spot...?
Thanks a lot for the translation^^
Spoiler:
LOL Amuro really likes to show his skills XDXD or it was just a way to stick around Sera...
So Masumi remembers that she has met Amuro before...I wonder if she's talking about the Detective nocturne case,or if she has met him before that.
I hope Amuro isn't her brother's friend...but if he is,I guess he tried to have information by staying close to Akai's family.

But boredom made me come to it once again in Winter 2004.
And I fell for it. Ever since then. Though sometimes it still frightens me like the first time
Hmm... I hope this isn't going to lead Rei being the friend who taught Sera... Does that specify which brother's friend it was?
Spoiler:
No, it doesnt specify—if the brother is Shukichi, it's more likely to be Rei/Tooru. If it's Shuichi, it's more likely to be Scotch, I think.
The reason you don't like the idea of Rei/Tooru being Shukichi's friend is?

Apparently not. I wouldn't make a big deal of it, though—there's two files to go.

*wide thought* May that friend be Scotch? XD

If the brother she's talking about is Shuichi, that's likely to be the case. I don't see Shuichi and Rei/Tooru knowing each other from before the BO days—Shuichi would likely know his real name, if that was the case (and File 897/Episode 783 seem to indicate—to me, at least—that Shuichi didn't know his real name was Rei Furuya).
ABBC3_OFFTOPIC
Speaking of which, how come the BO knows Shuichi's real name? How did they know that Dai Moroboshi was a fake name?

No, it doesnt specify—if the brother is Shuukichi, it's more likely to be Rei/Tooru. If it's Shuuichi, it's more likely to be Scotch, I think.
The reason you don't like the idea of Rei/Tooru being Shuukichi's friend is?
Spoiler:
Wait, why would you think that Shuukichi would be friends with Bourbon?
There is no reason that Shuukichi would even know Bourbon (even if before BO)
or that Shuuichi would be friends with Scotch?
As for Shuuichi being Scotch's friend, I could see that as a possibility if they were both still in the Org
but there is really no reason to think they would have known each other before then.
He doesn't seem near emotional enough about possibly causing Scotch's death the way Amuro does.
Why would a friend of one of her brothers even need to be an important character?
I mean we have already met several people who were friends of the "middle brother"
and one of them ended up killing another, and then they became sort of irrelevant.
I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.

Well... let's just say that then there is yet another I've-seen-this-guy-but-can't-remember case. On even deeper level. There is Ran with Subaru, Sera and Mystery Girl(and earlier in the series with Akai bc of NYC, not to mention her frequent suspiciouns of Conan being Shinichi). There is Conan with Sera and possibly the mystery girl too. There is Chiba with Miike. And now Sera with Amuro. It's just... Gosho using and overusing the same plotdevices over and over again is a bit tiring.

Spoiler:
Uh... because he's Masumi's brother? She didn't specify.
Again, your theory about Shuichi/Subaru being the one in contact with Masumi admits the possibility of an actual middle brother, a.k.a Shukichi. On the contrary, here's no reason he couldn't have met Rei/Tooru.

Spoiler:
To me, it seems that this "friend" is actually Rei/Tooru. If that's the case, I don't think Shuichi is the brother she's referring to, because that would mean Rei/Tooru and Shuichi knew each other and were friends before the BO days. Shuichi would've known his real name, and he doesn't seem to, in their conversation in File 897/Episode 783.
As for the Scotch suggestion, after Rei/Tooru, he's the second character that comes to mind. If Scotch is this friend, then it could work for either Shuichi or Shukichi. Rei/Tooru being the friend works for Shukichi.
Again, on the contrary, there's no reason they couldn't have known each other.

Uh... Shuichi's the stoic, remember? Look at how he handled Akemi's death—no teeth gritting, or angry snarls, even at Gin. Far more subtle displays, there. And she was his love—what about friends, then? They're different relationships, of course, but I can't imagine him displaying emotion over a friend's death in the same way Rei/Tooru does.

Why not?
Again, we have Rei's/Tooru and Masumi meeting—he clearly knows her, and she gets a feeling about him—at a case featuring guitar playing, which Rei/Tooru is quite good at, and Masumi mentions a friend of her brother's, who taught her. The case didn't need to feature Masumi mentioning her brother's friend who taught her, or show that Rei/Tooru is good with the guitar, or even have the two meet, with her getting a feeling—why even bring them up if it's not going to lead to something?

But they weren't mentioned before the case, and they weren't referenced, after—they were one case only characters.
Again, we have Rei/Tooru show up, show his skill with guitar, meet Masumi, who gets a feeling about him, then mentions that one of her brother's friends taught her.
It's not the same thing.

LOL yeah that's true^^and she knows all the Yoko Okino's songs XDXD At least that would be a good excuse for Ai and Amuro being in a case together...
Anyway I doubt Amuro is the friend that Sera is talking about...but maybe he knows who the friend is because he was investigating Akai's family. So it could be some anonymous guy.
As for Scotch being Shuichi's friend, for me it's impossible. He wouldn't have killed him back in the BO(even if Akai seems unemotional he would never kill one of his friend)
Geez,Gosho could have mentionned the Mary thing, instead of starting another mystery like that...

If Amuro is in fact Sera's brother's friend, then I think she only saw him when she was a kid, because it'd be weird if she has seen him not too long ago and doesn't recognize him. I think he's Shuukichi's high school friend.

Except being on a band draws quite a bit of attention and possibly coverage by some sort of media, especially with the daughter of the Suzuki Zaibatsu on it and Ai avoids coverage like that (hiding from press photographers before the Kirin's Horn Heist and playing sick to avoid the Crime Prevention Project the DB are scheduled to participate in before The Life-Threatening Broadcast of Love). Since Movie 12 is not canon (like every movie), we don't actually know how good Ai's vocalist skills are and even if they were good, none of the characters here would know that, except for Conan probably, but he wouldn't invite Haibara over if Amuro is near, because even if Amuro is an ally, doesn't mean it is a good idea for Haibara to meet him, especially since she doesn't know that he is a secret police agent.

I bet Amuro is just going to stand there, observing the crime scene and throwing hints, while Sera and Conan solve the case.
Though, I wonder why he decided to stick around ? Maybe he's hoping to get some clues about Akai whereabouts from Sera, but he'll end up getting info about Kudo Shinichi instead.
