I just saw the raw for 829, and I think, El Husendo, you might be right. It seems that Kid is Sonoko, and real Sonoko is tied up in the bathroom. So possibly, like you mentioned, the text Ran received was from the real Sonoko... I don't know for sure yet, though.
Kid used magnet for his trick, and he is disguised as Sera. According spoilers, Ran's phone went blank for a short period, while she stood next to Sera. This is why I think Kid as Sera was preparing for the trick. Also, the chain of the Blush Mermaid or the turtle(?) is made of iron, so I think this might proove that the trick involves a magnet somehow.

*wants to believe KID-Sonoko trying to ship Sera/Ran, though can't understand what's going on properly enough for that* XD Seems whoever predicted KID might think Sera was a boy was right though 'cause I'm fairly sure the only suspects for him at this point are Sera and Sonoko and from what I can see there definitely seems to be some kinda of gender confusion...
Whatever the case, this file looks like it could do with some hilarious caption type things *hinthint*
Although, after reading through some other things I'm now leaning more for KID-Sera than KID-Sonoko D:...

Wow, it looks like Sera's boyishness really might crack the case after all... I knew it was a longshot when I mentioned it, but wow. o_o
Also, the tied-up silhouette's clothes seem like Sera's vest. With luck, she'll be rescued before Kid can escape. The result would be hilarious. It would only make Kid more afraid of Conan: not only do his enemies carry guns, he has a tomboy who crushes people. xD
Quick question... Why don't they just tug on everyone's nose after Kid's heists? If Kid switched places with someone, that'd be the easiest way to tell. Instead, the most they do is check for disguises before. It's just common sense; Kid would be always be located right away if they did it that way. xD

I only have a crappy translation, but it seems like Sera suggested that everyone should go through a face pinch, but pulling girl's faces wouldn't be very nice. Everyone seems to have forgotten Sera went to the bathroom after having hers pinched so she isn't safe anymore. (Page 07 bottom panels with Sera in them) I'm not really sure though because it is a crappy translation.

Cellphone use flash memory that unaffected by magnet at all. The LCD screen also unaffected by magnet. The CPU and GPU also unaffected.
the only think that may affected is the signal reception.
maybe you mean Electromagnetic pulse instead of Magnet?

Kid was obviously using a neodymium supermagnet and planned to wipe out not only the problem of the tank and Ran's cell phone, but also the iron out of everyone's blood cells.
the page with Sonoko checking Masumi's chest and Nakamori checking Kogoro's chest was hilarious.
About Kid, whoever he might be of the 3 girls, his life is in danger after this case with only one exception. Kid!Sonoko will be chased by Masumi until she beats him to death for groping her and if it was Kid checking up Ran, he'll have to deal with both Ran's and Conan/Shinichi's wrath. It can also be that only Sonoko checked's Masumi's boobs
Also, they open up the aquarium and search for the turtle so Kid might've already stole it. From reading the posts above it seems the chain was made of iron/steel and Kid might've used a magnet. Well, Conan seems to have figured something already and start deducing next chapter. I'm curious though if the fact that he doesn't know Masumi will play a role in this
