1. Why did Conan go specifically to Ishiguri's room, I mean, they just got into that house and the host would've offered her room instead of Ishiguri's out of courtesy right? I suppose the hosts room is also air-conditioned.

Sonoko said that "Conan was going to Ishiguri-san's room and went up with him" so I think that Ishiguri was the one who wanted to use Conan in someway.

I see two possibilities.
1. He wanted Conan as a witness for something...
2. He is really nice to kids.
I have a feeling that the second is unlikely...

Considering his joke about the video thing and Uriu (whom I'm assuming is a kid), yeah, the second is unlikely :x

Or even worse: He was trying to murder Conan, using a trick that later backfired, in order to prove a point about the Uriu thing. Or something.
Just pointing something out, but the spare keys were 'lost' the day before all this. The keys are needed to be missing for the trick to work. So, either it was the woman who would've had to purposefully hit Conan who did it, or more likely, the culprit had already put the plan into action and Conan wasn't meant to be involved in the trick at all. Though, I guess he could've just improvised.

Oh right! I missed the part when Sonoko said that.. I agree, Ishiguri might be thinking of using Conan but the plan backfired onto him instead..

...This made me think of cruel sort of thing
Ishiguri was setting up a trick to scare Conan when he woke up similar to a trick he played on the Uriu kid (hence his "bad sense of humor" and "almost got Uriu killed" thing). The murderer had a feeling he'd try to pull something so they came into the room to stop him and one thing lead to another and uh-oh he died. They escape out the window and dada. Locked room
...Obviously this isn't serious at all considering at some point you'd expect Conan to wake up, but it's an interesting thought.
Actually I'm hoping that Ishiguri just accidentally step on the tennis racket, slipped, fell on the cupboard and the vase fell on him. And his missing slipper just flew somewhere in the room when he slipped. Once in a while it would be nice to have a case in which what happened is exactly what it looks like. Unlikely, though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when one has a concussion, isn't it bad for them to sleep?
"complete physical and cognitive rest"=sleeping is the #1 step listed under treatment in the Concussion Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concussion, so Sleep is not only not bad but also the preferred treatment.

I thought that sleeping is bad too... Like you see it in the movies where the person has to be woken up every hour. Seems to be a myth... you lern something knew every day.
But every normal kid would crie if woken up with a body right next to it. Maybe the culprit wanted this and could go through the window because the others would try to break the door. Than he could change something in the room. A normal kid would be too shocked to see this.
Maybe the murder didn't want to do this at first and changed the plan...
But why didn't Conan wake. up? ... Clorophorm or sleeping pills?

it has to be something, thinking the murderer planned for Conan to wake up at the right time. If not, then Conan was partially awake because of the heat and the noise of the vase falling was all it took to wake up -> the heat is involved again
I bet the culprit is Momozono Kotone (the woman who threw racket to Conan's skull). Of course a motive is about Uriu's death caused by Ishiguri.
She knocked Ishiguri's room door a number of times mean that she was a person who visited Ishiguri's room the most times.
When she heard a noise coming from a ceiling, she simply assumed a noise is coming from Ishiguri's room, which means that her trap for killing Ishiguri is working.
She knew that she didn't see a spare key from Ishiguri's room since yesterday morning. How do she know that? She had checked it cautiously.
Of course these hints are still far from convincing, wait for more hints in File 826.

Complete physical AND COGNITIVE rest, huh?
Ten bucks says Conan passes out again at the end of the case.
