Well, my opinion of Kid dropped after this chapter. He did actually taser Conan. What a jerk! Now I have yet another reason not to like him. Conan should have whacked him in the back of the head instead, maybe with the taser set on.

Maybe we can form a club. I think Kid escaped in the end, and the revenge was getting chased around exhaustively for over an hour. What really bothered me was why he used a taser when he has sleeping gas. Heck, I would have preferred he used a Judo blood hold over the taser. Kaito could have achieved the same effect if he sleeping-gassed Conan, brought along a syringe of sterile IV fluid, stuck that in Conan's arm, and then left the syringe lying around. They would be banging down the door to take Conan to a hospital since there is a mysterious needle on the ground and a needle mark on Conan's arm. Same affect achieved minus the taser.
Or think about it this way, if Conan and Haibara decided to switch positions, which isn't unreasonable, it would have been Haibara who got tasered. Imagine the backlash by Ai fans... I think Gosho made a mistake picking a taser for the knockout weapon, or maybe Gosho is trying to recast Kid to be more villainous. I kind of like the idea of a malevolent magician for a nemesis so maybe this change isn't for the worst...
I think the mystery would have been a lot more interesting if the trick required electricity and Conan was collateral damage as I theorized earlier. Also if Kaito Kid had a hole in the ground, couldn't he have pitched Kirin's horn down there and waited for the doors to be opened? Also Haibara and the gang really stink at searching clothes. They did only mention searching Conan's pockets, but it occurred to me immediately to search the hood of the jacket too... Come on Haibara, you're supposed to be on top of these things!

Also, isn't it kinda stupid for Kid to underestimate Conan? He should've known that Conan would wake up and hide it! He should know better!
I think Kid going so far as to taser Conan means that he might be getting close to finding Pandora...if you don't know what that is, read Magic Kaito. It's important to the plot as far as Kid is concerned.

May I point out that, in the past, Conan has been far more violent towards Kid than Kid's even been towards him? (Ex: Too many soccer balls to count, blowing up the motorcycle Kid was riding back in the walking-on-air case...)

If Kid is still there, and he was the one who stole the amber, then he going to be caught. There is no way out this time. Window too small, Cops outside, Pass through the mountain blocked, Bad storm outside so flying out of the question. Since I see no way for Kid to get away, That must mean he was never there, and is being setup. The amber must have been switch with a melting fake.
