In manga she said, "I guess I'm a bad kid after all", while having tears in her eyes and looking at Ran, who was putting plaster on Conan's wound. I don't know what exactly she meant by those words, but I'm assuming it must be related to her family. Maybe that she meant that she's a bad kid, because she disobeyed her parents or brother. Also, the scene between Conan and Ran could remind Masumi about something that happened in the past, e.g. between her and her brother.

By the way is Shuuichi's, the middle brother's and Masumi's dad alive?

I agree with soul_dreamer. I'm guessing that the interaction between Ran & Conan could be seen as a sibling relationship, and she was probably thinking of a time in which she disobeyed Shuu. It would make sense in that case, because this file was released before it was revealed that Masumi was Shuu's sister (it was pretty obvious either way).

I'm not going to disagree with the previous comments though I think it was a little different. In her introductory case Sera tries to bait Conan (she asks if the application of the wheelchair is correct, something Shinichi over the phone could never know) In the cold case she's the one who encourages Ran to call Shinichi and I feel in some way to confirm he's Conan. (In the same way Okiya/Akai follows him to confirm his theory.) I think Sera has a crush on Conan/Shinichi and after seeing Ran with Conan and the way the two interacted at the end of the cold case she felt bad trying to expose Conan when she obviously understands how hard his position must be(unknown child).

You're welcome :)
And I agree with you,I guess ran and Conan relationship reminds her the time she spent with her brother Shuuichi who may have taken the daddy's role since his death.I can imagine Shuu yelling at Sera when she's making a mistake^^

Really, I somehow cannot imagine Shuu to yell at Masumi, did he even yell at someone, before? I can imagine him explaining to Masumi that what she did was wrong in calm yet in disappointed voice that his little sister didn't listen to him.

LOL yeah that's right Akai is the type of guy who stays calm,I only remember him yelling at Ran during the New york case, but it was because she was a civilian in a dangerous area.
Really I can't wait to see Akai/Masumi interactions,or a flashback about these two.

That's what I think as well, more or less. That Sera didn't want to blow the whistle on Conan's identity hence the crying.
