The phone thing was pretty much just some extra story for that Haibara part... Seems like the dude just stole it because of the uproar and ambulance coming, he probably had thought that the phone had been forgotten there.

the ambulance came after the case right, i mean after the victim fell to the river,
but the phone recorded the conversation which the culprit guide the victim there.
and how could conan somehow look like pretty sure "the culprit has my phone"?

Well hmm...
It doesn't look like Conan was absolutely sure about it there, he just said may have been saved there?

I'm wondering how the things panned out here though.. The dude says at the end that he thought the phone was his, I thought it may have been a lie but Ayumi said he was in a hurry? They also think of that in the first chapter...
They know that the thief was part of the kite flying competition, Conan knows who the culprit is really fast ...

I guess from what I can gather now that I read this is that since the person hadn't removed the sim card off the phone, and the phone was on... until 2 calls later it got shut

When I first read it I assumed the culprit was next to the toilet but it seems like he had picked the phone up because he mistook it to be his own, because he stumbled and didn't think straight and just happened to pick it up... Conan had blacked the screen so that you can't notice it's recording... After the incident happens (it's recording in the culprits jacket or somewhere where he puts his phone always, whatever)... Anyway after the ambulance leaves from the scene, Agasa calls the phone 2 times until the phone gets shut down...

So in otherwords Conan just got lucky that this was the man who took the phone? I guess Gosho wanted to add something there but decided to leave it out... Like the similarities between the phone that Conan looks at, and his own (and the culprits) when Conan thinks "This was no suicide" or whatever. Also it seems like he left out the panel where it should explain how the culprit shut down the phone that was in his pocket while he was most likely celebrating what he did/angry why the dude didnt die...

Well, like Conan said they could have gotten the truth out of the dude anyway.
