Otherwise, if he continues like before and almost nothing changes... one day some crazy fan will blow up his home or something like that and then we will never get a proper ending. But, with all the development happening right now in the actual arc, I'm optimistic that we will finally see something big in the following chapters. Maybe.

That's probably the best joke I've ever heard. We all know that TWO things (Sera=Akai's sister and Shiho's mom's recording) solved is enough for Gosho to close the whole case. Though to be honest I AM hoping he'll resolve the Bourbon case in this arc, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. Bt to be honest he PROBABLY will do it soon, since he said somewhere that the resolution to the Bourbon case is FINALLY coming up soon.

This ongoing case is a huge BO case with many important characters involved which Gosho usually uses to close an arc. I believe the last time we had such an important case was the Clash of Red and Black, the one in which Akai was apparently killed by Kir, and it was used by Gosho to end an arc. So I believe that by the end of this case we'll know the true identity and motives of the hat lady, Bourbon, Scar Akai, Amuro, Sera, and Bourbon. We'll definitely know what will happen to Haibara and if we're lucky we might even find out if Akai is alive.

That is true and probably why the manga has managed to go on for so long because Gosho is probably still going to continue to show us a thousand different ways on how to commit a murder and until his imagination runs out he'll finally reveal what he has to until he gets his psych back and continues like before making everything go back to normal in spite of what's been going on!
