Kaitou Kid - Anime Episode 628

Wondering about Kaitou Kid's mother ... probably not a spoiler, but...

It's sort of implied in Episode 628 that Phantom Lady is Kaitou Kid's mother. Is this clarified anywhere in the anime / manga?  She's mentioned in the Kaitou Kid stories manga spin-off as well, and it's implied that his mother has some secret that she and his father's assistant are keeping from him... so I was just wondering.

ep 628 is an anime episode that build on manga, therefor canon and real in Gosho world.

Phantom Lady has been confirmed to be Kaitou Kid's mother in both the DC manga files relating to the Sakamoto Ryouma case and the just-released MK manga files regarding how Phantom Lady and the Original Kaitou Kid met.

I wasn't doubting whether 628 was canonical or not, but people are sometimes temperamental.  I suppose I could look it up but, I'll ask: Are the Summer MK episodes in the Conan manga, or just the MK one? I guess 627-628 would be the real overlap with Conan, the others are more straight Kaitou Kid. 

I wasn't sure how the two series canonically intersected, since the Kid shown in the Conan stories has always been the younger one. I'll have to read up on the details of time on here, I guess. The fact that the show's been running 15 years always deceives me!

I thought the details of the original Kaitou Kid and Phantom Lady were all flashbacks in the Sakamoto Ryouma story. The anime is a bit vague, so I'll have to read up on my MK!  I'm behind the times on  manga. Thanks! :3

The two Kid episodes are only in the Magic Kaito manga, while the two Conan episodes are from the Conan manga but just so happen to feature Kid in them.
