according to the availiable scanlations in onemanga, (I check the cases I remember with time mentionings.)

file 423: Agasa says it's winter break.
file 594: they sat it's new year but I don't know if the "new year" which they refer to is january 1
file 595: Ran says that Eisuke couldn't be contacted as of a little before the winter vacation (or something like that)
red wall case: feburary
current case: october 10th.

so if the transation was correct, there was about a year difference between the confrontation with Vermouth and Akai's death.

I did it up until chapter 140 or so but I overwrote the file after I gave up. The time frame doesn't make sense at all. My observation is that the timing of events and seasons in DC roughly parallels real world time (more so in more recent chapters than earlier ones), but there are also scattered references that less than a year has passed since Shinichi shrank (1st file of Shirigami case for instance). There may be some notes on the timing of things in the official DC casebook, but I don't think there is a translation of it. There is a lot of interesting miscellaneous information like how much money Kogoro made from cases, a labeled map of Beika, where Gosho drew inspiration from for the Org, and other things like that...

A labeled map of Beika.. that would be interesting to me in a non-story-related sense.  I'll have to hunt that down.

Even though I feel sorry for Ran that she her parents are like that, it's partly her fault that every time they end up fighting again and that's because she tries to bring them back together without considering their true feelings.

IMO kogoro ran and eri are a great family when they're together (dinner table) and that's what Gosho trying to tell us in file 709 I think... and you got to remember, their real "true" feeling is they still like each other but then they aren't good at communicating that and that's what causing the problem  because apparently words are everything in DC

Kogoro will probably be like "I'm going to do everything to solve this case." (cause Eri should be the prime suspect) and Conan will be like "I'm going to let him solve the case on his own...and help him a bit" and after Kogoro will make a deduction, Eri will be impressed and return to him.

Now in real life, we would say that these two people have both hurt each other pretty badly (here, we are talking about emotionally, if anyone's confused).  One hurts the other pretty much continuously, the other hurts the first at every opportunity.  Even so, they both won't give the other up and they seem to relish being able to interact with each other (usually vindictively).  And on the deepest, most hidden level, they both want to stop this foolishness and get back together.

The biggest problem I see is that when Kogorou goes gaga over some other girls/ladies, he's not trying to piss Eri off (because he does that when she's not around too).. he's just like that (now).  I don't see that changing very easily, and I don't see Eri suddenly becoming forgiving of that either.

Now, story-wise, the biggest problem I see is that if Eri moves back in, Conan's identity will be found out in a heartbeat.

...and if this is what really happens, I'd be really disenchanted with the whole thing.  Good touch that it'll be Actual Kogorou (as opposed to Sleeping Kogorou) that impresses Eri, but it'd still be way too simple.  And contrived too.

nah.. i don't think eri and mouri would be together again after this case because that would be a big problem for conan..
