Silver bullet and Vermouth's not-aging
Sorry if there's already a thread about this, but I didn't see one!
I just found it really interesting that Vermouth, the Boss, and Gin all call Akai (or Conan) the "silver bullet".
You can find the wiki article on silver bullets here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_bullet
There were two parts I found relevant. "In some epic folk songs about Bulgarian rebel leader Delyo, he is described as invulnerable to normal weapons, driving his enemies to cast a silver bullet in order to murder him."
Akai/Shinichi are the only "weapons" that can kill the Boss, at least according to him and Vermouth
"The term has been adopted into a general metaphor, where "silver bullet" refers to any straightforward solution perceived to have extreme effectiveness. The phrase typically appears with an expectation that some new technological development or practice will easily cure a major prevailing problem."
This is where it hooks into Vermouth's aging...issues. Vermouth somehow stopped aging, thus solving a "major, prevailing problem". AKA, death. Vermouth later says, "If he could penetrate my chest, he could be our long awaited silver bullet."
The "penetrate my chest" line seems to refer to her death. "If he could kill me, he might be the release from the organization we've (Vermouth and the Boss? I dunno why it's plural) waited for."

Re: Silver bullet and Vermouth's not-aging
Iirc, they're called silver bullets (by Vermouth at least) because of their ability to take down the organization, not the boss specifically.
Also, the line about penetrating her chest was her referring to his ability to emotionally affect her (touch her heart, however with the bullet symbolism, she went with the chest-piercing) via how he held onto his values, and how that may mean he has the ability to take down the org (thus being the silver bullet).
Could be wrong on that, but that's how I remember it and I dunno when it happened to look it up.

i'm not expert in Japanese but, Japanese sentence often leave out Subject and object, only verb left. mean when she say penetrating her chest in could mean "he who can penetrate my(Vermouth) OR our (BO) OR his (Anokata) chest.
But I goes for BO as a whole.
For example, when Jodie first talk about rotten apple, her line translate as "I already located one of the target, funnily he change his appearance" to not misleading Her line should "I already located one of the target, funnily that person change his/her/they appearance.
We don't know the gender of Jodie's target yet. And when we learn, She's Vermouth. Since Jodie recently met Conan before that line. It safe to assume that her target is Conan who shrink. But actually She is Vermouth who start to disguise as Araide
Edit: my bad, Vermouth specifically say "Watashi no Mune" (My chest).

I'm just wondering why she thinks Conan would have to go through her to bring down the Org.

@Shuusgirl I cannot remember where she claimed that. In which episode did she say that 'Conan needs to go through her to bring down the organization'?

I reckon she says he managed to penetrate her heart or something, but that's it.

This is what I am able to recall too. However, the part, in which she claims that Conan has to pass her first to crush the organization... I cannot remember that.

Hmm... The way I interpret it is that Vermouth is thinking that since Conan was able to get on HER better side, he will be able to gather enough people to help him bring down the Org.Kaia wrote: This is what I am able to recall too.
