Do you guys think that would have anything to do with the case? I can't see how it would relate to it...I think Wu (or Shu) is usually represented by Red...

Not sure.
Well, the characters for "Red Wall" in the story are a nod to the place where the Battle of the Red Cliffs occurred (the Chinese for Red Cliffs = "red wall" in this story). The battle took place during the Three Kingdoms period (should be no surprise by now) between the kingdom of Wei and the allied forces of Shu and Wu. Zhuge Liang, as he always does, probably played some role in establishing the alliance and successfully thwarting the Wei threat. And of course, there conveniently is a character in this file who took his name after Zhuge Liang, as noted previously.

Interesting, how would we relate that to the case though?

Zhuge Liang, is he that master strategist and philosopher?

Well, it's possible that the red cliff reference is as useful as having that grand magician's last name as "ninety-nine" a few hundred episodes back (the one who was killed in that 2-hour special where Ran almost revealed Shinichi before his mom came to save the day). One possibility I see is that Koumei got two guys to conspire against the victim.

Yes.

I would answer your question, but it would involve some terms that aren't fit for a PG rated forum.

Are you even looking at the right Wikipedia page?

Koumei comes from the Chinese characters "孔明", which refer to Zhuge Liang's courtesy name. Since you said you got your info from Wiki, I will show you another piece of wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhuge_Liang

Right where it says "courtesy name".

Also, Japanese wiki - http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%AB%B8%E8%91%9B%E4%BA%AE
If you look for the kanji "孔明", you will see the pronunciation as "ã

Anyway. My bet is that Koumei  is really the murderer. That whole detective thing is totally just a front. My spider-sense is tingling. ^_^
So Haibara's "radar" goes off at odd times, right? And she thinks that it is linked to the Black Org, right?
But all of the times it's gone off, there have been FBI (or suspected FBI) members there...
So, it's an FBI radar.

684 Spoilers
Spoiler:
It can't be, Koumei. I've seen the file 684 RAW and at the end someone attacks Koumei and knocks him out, then sets fire to the mansiion. I thought so at the begining, but now it cannot be. Now we have three suspects.

We'll have to wait for next file to find out the real culprit.
Yours respectfully,

Spimer-sensei.

Spoiler:
Well the guy that died could have been in on the crime so maybe the detective was too and the 3rd criminal wanted to silence both of them?
I mean the detective coming to the victims' houses first both times is suspicious.
(any one want to enlighten me on the grammar for that i mean 2 victims 2 houses...??? lol)

*edit by Kagami*
Same as above, use spoiler tags until the new file is out in English

the removal of the red wall is referring to the timetable for chores. day one is white, blue is dead, red is victim and behind the wall is green. ^^
