I hope we would get NON-STOP B.O related story from the begining of this new year issue until the end chapter of DC.. There are no party that last forever, DC should End this year.. i don't need detective boys saving the day again, i dont need another lame sleeping kogoro case.. The tittle of this manga is detective Conan ! not detective mouri / kids 

I need continuation of the story ! Heiji, KID, takagi/sato/police dept officers should join as the part of the major BO related arc, Rather than having their own separated chapter/story, it would save time and more thrilling.. don't you agree ?

There are still too many un-revealed parts of the story / plot, if gosho don't start to pick up the pace this year, we would seen no end for this manga...

My answer is: I don't know.

On the one hand, I want the main story to continue with a happening that does something, if necessary the end. As far as I'm concerned, one or two characters may die or any change may happen. On the other hand, I'm sure Gosho has still a lot great cases in his mind which he hasn't committed to paper yet.

First of all, I'll see what will happen in the next BO case. It seems to be a kind of prequel for the 13th movie, so it absolutely could be the end. But first I'll read the new BO case, and if the case is gonna lengthen the story or if the case is gonna have no result (as nearly every other BO case unfortunately had), my answer will change to "yes".

Who here thinks they'll go through severe DC withdrawal when DC ends ?

well still i like to watch the movie...
but still hope this movie doesn't end DC...
after almost 12-13 years of DC if it's the ending then this could be great movie...

well, i think that the story will end this year, but i don't say it should...

If it's gonna end they have a long way to go so i'm gonna say im more of the "I think it won't end" side.  Either way I would love more BO cases in 2009 to at least get closer to the end.

I'm against it. It would be too rushed (we still have got to meet Bourbon and see him in action!), it would throw the normal structure of Detective Conan in disarray and we'd receive way too much information in one swoop (making us dizzy and not able to follow the story anymore), and I think we at least deserve some seperate arcs where Conan discovers and fights the boss of the organization (the same with Gin actually, since he's the real bad guy and opponent of Conan here). And for that we need time, and to make it look like some time has passed by we (sadly enough) need some not-so-important cases or plain fillers.

Don't forget we can only get 52 chapters a year at most, and I really can't see how Gosho will get the whole story fit into so few chapters. Even if they were all BO-related. I'd love to see some encounters with the CIA and Eisuke too by the way.

i agree 52 chapters - assume then its 17 series evry yr, definitely a bit too little to end DC, how lucky, DC might last another 3 yrs

Wish there was an answer for maybe. But, I predicted the end to be this year or next year.

I don't know if it should end this year but I think that, considering that is a long running series, every new year this question will arise

With every time I read this sentence, I get the feeling that this idea is actually not such a bad and crazy thing as I thought when I read it for the first time.

I have Gosho down as a clever man (what else should he be when you look at the stories? ), so he'll certainly know that it's a good opportunity to end the series this year. And I'm sure he's not the kind of man who wants to have something as long as possible, just as little he wants more and more money (he should have earned enough by now ).

I could imagine that the new BO case will last until March/April, perhaps continue in the movie and then perhaps continue in the manga again...
It might be uncommon, but it would make the cash tills ring.
