Since I'm told kkslider isn't around this week, figured I might as well do this.

Hype: Start!

+ :
-Good animation overall. The first scene between Gin and Vermouth in particular was well handled. I also liked the repeated use of thicker lines when they zoom on the characters although I think it should be restricted to moments with a certain tension (I don't see what it brings when Sonoko is talking about Kid, for example). I also liked the animation they had for the train.
-Decent use of music too. Not on par with the early jazzy music of course but there were some tracks that I found quite good, like the one when Conan runs to the girls' cabin.
-Excellent pacing. 1 episode for 2 chapters. Pefect. Was expected though as this is the first episode. We'll see how they handle it for the next episodes.
-Good beginning for this case : the setting is interesting as are the characters, the atmosphere is rather tense and the viewer wants to know what happens next.

-Over the top scenes at certain points, like when everything turns purple when Haibara feels Scar Akai's presence. It just gets annoying when repeated several times in an episode. Have the character looked freaked out like they did in the Bus Case, for example, ok, but no use for these weird backround colors.

One thing I found rather weird-- Did we really need a character intro card for Kogorō? Do people really think we don't know who he is 700 episodes into the show?

Had one in the manga too : http://www.dctp.ws/V78--Reader/V78-1Read/A8.html. I suppose it was used first and foremost to indicate his car and cabin ?

I suppose, but it'd just been mentioned in dialogue. Feels kind of strange to see an intro card for a regular.

And I liked the intro card thing.
Even though Kogoro is a regular character, it's one of those things that made me think while reading the manga that it was going to be a very important chapter (in spite of the fact that it was obvious because of Shiho's appearance in the previous case and such).
If my memory isn't wrong, Kogoro didn't have an intro card before.

Is it me or is Conan's voice a bit weird?

I was just tempted to write it here since it's anime-related, but you have a point, I'll delete and recopy it there .

since Mystery Train isn´t a special im hoping the heiji case is because 6-7 episodes of heiji.. I like Heiji but thats taking it bit too far

Don't get your hopes up. And we've just had countless AOs so 6-7 episodes with Heiji will be fine compared to that.

True ^. But I'm also really looking for a special for this one since I was disappointed that the Bell-Train isn't. But even if it wasn't, I don't think it'll take 6-7 episodes that's too much no matter how you look at it.
