I don't know why they bring this thing up. This directly contravened the Stradivarius in Vol 46 (46:2.7), where, when compared to the Shitaras, neither Conan nor Ran has that sense of tone accuracy.

Conan's tone accuracy is "not bad" according to the guy w/perfect pitch (forgot his name... phail ). So that means Conan might have a good tone accuracy but not that "perfect".

And I don't remember any part in the movie saying that Conan has a perfect pitch. Who brought this up anyway?

I second that.

Haga Kyousuke confirmed* that Conan actually assigned the correct notes to the tones, though**. What Conan lacked was confidence enough to trust his own judgement. Unusual for him, but given the way his middle school music teacher treated him and his poor singing ability, not really implausible***.

Now that we know that Conan has knowledge on music and only lacks execution skills, let us ponder on why Conan did not know the "da capo" music term. Somehow, it implied that Conan was a real noob for music, and it became Ran's clue to exposing his identity as well. Was that ignorance of his done by Gosho on purpose only to stimulate the ongoing sidestory of Ran & Conan during the case, or are there any other explanations for that?

well.. i think conan has something near to a perfect pitch. in the movie, haibara said, that he had...

what i thought about the "seven children song" case... do i remeber it correctly, that conan figured out the notes, but didn't know what it meant and ran then found out that it was the seven children song?

He also had Ran explain the notations for sharps and flats when he was trying to figure out the code in the Moonlight Sonata case. It probably wasn't just music, either, but art in general, since Conan asked Ran about the tools used in coal sketching during the Hatamoto/Luxury Liner case (though, that time he may have been trying to draw attention to the clue). That he knows about similar stuff nowadays probably just means he's a fast learner and is smart enough to fill the gaps in his knowledge after subjects he avoided previously actually proved useful in solving a case. Unfortunately, that's also diminished Ran's usefulness in the mysteries.
