hehe,, it has 500+ episodes and yet there's no development in shinichi's love life, so, i would just like to ask you which of the two partners would a better couple for the ending?.. considering, from what we've seen, conan and ai, have more scenes together that ai is starting to like conan, and he doesn't notice it yet or shinchi and ran who has no development at all (i mean personal development, who could survive years of waiting???, only through phone calls, few accidental meetups.. etc..) ? i hope you choose and leave some comments:D

maybe i would start with, shinichi and ai:) they would be a perfect couple, considering all the adventures, all the togetherness:D

I personally think thats true, eventually they will start getting really close if Haibara ever lets him.  Plus if they never find an antidote, i doubt Ran will be willing to accept Shinichi as a kid unless she deems it ok to be a pedophile lol.  But honestly, out of every character in DC, Haibara is the only one who can actually keep up with Conan, I mean think about it if he is this smart now, he'll put Holmes to shame when he's an adult.  God I hope no one holds a grudge against me for that one, lol. But again its a matter of the situation, Haibara doesn't have a reason to be cured, so she'll probably stay a kid, Conan wants to be able to grow back up when he finishes Black Org off, so unless an antidote can't be made, I'm pretty sure he'll end up with Ran, despite how much I think ConanxAi would be cool .  UNLESS Haibara chases after him as a hot 17 year old grad student, ohh, someone take this idea for a fanfic, lol!!!

Want ConanxAi, but probably won't happen, this isn't Ichigo100%, where a left-field character ends up with the main.

Although I like Ai Haibara very much, I think Shinichi should be with Ran =D Coz he loves her very much ) I think Shinichi just thinks of Ai as one of his friend :-?? That's all. It can be seen that everything he does, he does for Ran. Even when he confronted with the Death, he just thought about Ran. Then I really want Shin and Ran would be together.

I wouldn't mind an ending that leaves Ai as Conan's only viable choice, if it's done right and doesn't just throw Ran into the trash as a character or make Shin'ichi into a total hypocrite. Give Ran a heroic or tragic death, one Shin'ichi partially caused and will always regret, don't have her randomly get hit by a bus please.

If she lives, at least give her a viable suitor, developed in story...

For me the better couple is Shinichi and Ran!!!

If ShinichixRan doesn't happen, I agree with Nyarl.  The two have been a couple far too long for Gosho to find a way to let Ran live and get Conan and Ai together.  Though, ConanxAi is a cute couple... 

We all know that RanXShinichi is how it's gonna end: DC is a "classic" anime where the male hero will definitely end up with the female hero, it was obvious since the first episode. However, I can't help but voting for AiXConan/ShihoXShinichi, this couple is just so cute and they fit perfectly with each other. Ran is a nice character but that's it. Ai is more interesting and is a really awesome character! She's deep and suicidal (^^) and even though she has feelings for Conan, she always tries to help him with Ran. Besides, she's in the same intellectual level as Conan, they understand each other very well and they're in the same situation (kinda because of Ai and yes she kinda ruined his life but still.. ^^). Well, it just seems to me that Ai is the perfect match for Conan.

I don't really agree.. Conan has risked his life many times to save Ai from death.
Actually, Conan is ready to risk his life for everyone, he can't let anyone die. ^^

lol.  She'd scare him to death if he made her angry, where I feel Shinichi would only be scared half to death. 

eisuke might hav learnt a bit of self defence in the CIA though

Heh, I said that "when Shin confronted with the Death, he just thought about Ran" [ as you can see in Vol 36 - 37 ] ;;) When he knew that he could die, he whispered "Ran, I wanna say goodbye" ;;)
